Default I need to kill... that!

Sometimes I find that there are solos or UAs that must die, but how to kill it, especially when its protected. What solos that we have access to are great for solo assassinations?

The Hunter seems like the piece for the job, but against a ARM 14 Sm base, your looking to dump only 1 damage on the solo. So give me a better option.

Ok, so this is actually one of our strong suits, here is a list off the top of my head:

Siege has Ground Pounder so you can target what you like with the AOE or drop a Foxhole on the troops that are blocking LoS then shoot with whatever you have available. He can also Force Hammer something into there squishy support pieces but this is a little harder to align correctly.

pCaine can just Feat, which doesn't care about LoS, on there whole army. Just in case I would boost any important solos/support

eCaine has Magic Bullet, nuff said

eHaley can TK enemy models out of the way to get LoS on certain models. Also you can really surprise a WM player when you use Domination on his warjack to kill his own solos

pNemo and pHaley has Chain Lightning which can run through support models in the back lines of an army

pStryker can EQ LoS blocker then use his sniped models to shoot support pieces

Gun Mage solo can Phantom Seeker

Grenadiers have arcing fire, I love to marshal mine to Gun Mages for snipe with Trencher solos for the reload

AND last but not least, probably our new favorite way will be dropping the Lightning Pods from the SW.

Stormsmiths are great for this job - especially against Eiryss hiding behind a wall for example

Err...People forget the B13. Though I also like my GMCA. In fact, I often use 2x GMCA and the B13 as my ranged compliment in games.

Stormsmiths are perfectly designed just for problem solos and UAs . . .

This is one use for why I like my storm tower... Had a pirates player make the mistake of trying to assault an objective point in killing fields with grogspar and hawk. Storm tower ate them for breakfast, and had Gudrun there just to mop up. Dealing with stealth, run a stormsmith or lightning immune model up near it, and zap em in the back.

Instead of having the Defender put 5 damage on a Khador Jack... I generally instead have it kill Joe. From 25" out. It's still amazing how many people forget to expect that. Defenders often are point killers for me. Granted quite expensive ones.. but I think a model like Joe is worth the shot.

What everyone has said; basically, either your warcaster (especially Siege or the Caines), Black 13th or GMCAs (when you think about it, the Black 13th are basically a unit of GMCAs), and the Stormsmith. I've tinkered around with the Stormsmith a fair bit lately ever since I left them in my "Mk.I cold storage" along with my Long Gunners, but have found that skill check-based attack to be godsend against the numerous high-DEF targets out there; particularly Eiryss, which I face very often.

I've been fielding Twin Storm Towers recently. For 4 points, they can usually kill between 2-6 Infantry/turn within 14-20+" Furthermore, they can get around things like Sac-Pawn through eLeaps.

... of course, if you're bringing them, you should probably bring Stormsmiths... who can do the same sort of things.

    Best,

Being able to identify and pick off the correct targets is essential for cygnar to perform well.

Storm Wall is also no slouch at spot removal. I had Storm Wall (with Snipe and a boost) one-shot a Zealot Monolith Bearer who was behind cover; I think I was just as shocked as he was. I've typically had a huge issue dealing with his Zealot spam but taking that one model out made all the difference, and Storm Walls bring their own anti-infantry templates and Electro Leap for mopping up the now-defensively-mediocre bomb-lobbers.

Arc through Thorn for +3 movement, then I believe he has Spd:6, so a 9" charage +2 Reach = 14". Then bond with EHaley and Tele him for another 4" for 18" total. Or just Arc through him and cast?

If the Triumph does not move it can see stealth. 16" range of death, AOE, if you need it. Attach to Gun Mages for Snipe.

Stormwall through a POD, and all shoot it who can bouce lightning off it. Or Just run a Storm...... and shoot it, to bounce lightning off it.

Character warjacks cannot be marshaled. Just another failing of Triumph.
