Just wanted to say thumbs up to PP. You always get the sore thumbs sticking out on forums, I'm sure most of your Stormwalls are just fine like mine.

You know, getting what you pay for (125 dollars in this case) really shouldnt prompt a "good work PP!!!". Now if you got more than you paid for, such as a free ironclad or whatever then its ok to praise them.
^ agreed. no reason to commend someone for doing something expected.
Wow really guys?!
the guy wanted to thank PP for his model?! did it really break your world that he posted this? I mean come on, if you dont have anything actually constructive to say in the thread, maybe thats a good sign to just not post?
Grats OP. its nice to see that the miscasts and mispacks isnt everyone that some ppl actually got their model whole and ready to go, go enjoy it!

The negativity in this thread is pretty damn sad. Yeah, typically it's polite to commend someone on a job well done, and the last thing anyone should be doing is discouraging people from it. What the heck is that supposed to accomplish anyways? Why would it be bad to thank someone? More so if you got exactly what you paid for with no problems.
My stormwall was also perfect, thanks PP.
(Though it did take me a little while to figure out what the foot plates were for).
"If at first you don't succeed, label it version 1.0."
I think he was doing a useful thing, by letting others know that not all of them had problems. In case someone was hesitant to buy one due to the issues some people have experienced.
For the record, mine was without problems as well.
Yeah the foot plates were a bit confusing for me as the assembly diagram doesn't actually have them on it. Overall mine came out pretty good. No missing pieces, actually have an extra casing side for my storm pods. Mold lines were a little heavy in some spots but nothing I can't fix with some hard work and green stuff. Its just such a phenomenal model that I can overlook most of that and I still be excited enough to mention stormwall a few times a day to a fellow player at work.
I agree and would also like to thank PP for a fantastic model in the Stormwall! Both of the Stormwalls that I purchased were complete and pretty damn perfect as far as I'm concerned! I'm a very happy Cygnarian.![]()
I think part of the problem (if that is what it could have been called) is that the legs look fine without them too. So I didn't look at the legs and think anything was missing, and it wasn't until I was scrutinizing the picture on the box art that I realized there was a plate on the foot that looked like the odd plates I was holding.
"If at first you don't succeed, label it version 1.0."
My Stormwall was perfect as well and went together beautifully.
I must be really lucky (and I may be jinxing myself now) because in all my models I have had only one mispack (two left legs for an Uhlan leader). IBodger says that my current collection is 350 models and if I count stuff that I have sold off the total must be well over 400. I think that is quite good stats.
Huh, weird - I obviously didn't just see your thread asking for replacement legs then, when you could have just, you know, followed the replacement parts process, cause its for them to read and not the community - no topic there either I guess...
Its hypocrisy of mind blowing proportions, and I'm extremely sad to see it here. Also sad to see my last comment was deleted by the Mods, but not the off topic and rude posts that proceeded it - the original poster is expressing thanks for a job well done, a sentiment that most of us share, but don't bother to post, which frankly I find refreshing compared to the constant "I've got a missing part, Wah wah" threads all over this forum, which are all unnecessary because there is a process in place for getting replacement parts already, and it is not something that needs further discussion really - I feel like telling people that those threads shouldn't be on a public forum, but I don't because of, you know, manners...
My Stormwall was also in good condition and I would like to thank PP for a job well done with - yes I got what I paid for, but it was also clearly a labour of love for many people at PP and it really shows.

My Stormwall would like to give you a hi five but he cant reach
I actually asked a question on my topic you know, this guy, just told us his was super dandy and thats it. Nothing to discuss and people like you enjoy calling hypocrite and bashing others defending pointless threads like this whose only ground to reply in them is to reply to you
Also, if you want to say thanks, email them, its better a personalized email to a showboating thread on here if you want to say thanks for something you paid for.

Posting and reposting in a confrontational and... something less than well thought-out manner will make you no friends. This is a game, we're playing with giant toy soldiers. So please, keep it civil people.
Yes, writing them an email is nice, but this way, the larger community knows not every stormwall comes with two left arms, plus there's a greater chance the PP workers will see it. Also, and just for the record, all of Privateer Press's factories are either in the U.S.A or the U.K. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Maybe I should make a topic every time I get a good cast...

My point (in part) in posting is that 99 out of 100 Stormwall casts might be perfect- but those 1 in 100 will go to the forums and complain because they are prompted to by their bad experience. It misrepresents the manufacturer, skewing perception that there is an above average rate of defects.
Now, most reasonable people are already aware of this and so discount the problem cases as not representative. In fact, I got so excited opening my Stormwall and doing some pre-painting assembly of the various sectors (yes, I too was puzzled for a minute by the mysterious foot plates) that I thought I'd give a shout out to the team that put it all together.
Also, working on the legs today, it made me realized I need a bigger paint brush. The puny tip I normally use for detail work on various models just looks sad and tiny set against the massive expanses of a colossal!
My brother just received his Stormwall and was missing a fore arm, but its being taken care of. However can I say how awesome those things are. The detail is outstanding. Just holding the main upper body portion made me jealous, and so much more excited for the Judicator. He also did not know where the foot plates went but I follow Matt Wilson's blog so it was easy to figure out. But just to say it again, that thing is amazing to hold, I think those that have had the opportunity to hold it will agree. Awesome job PP!
They have said before that the plastic kits are made in a factory in china, which is why they don't have great control over when they arrive.
As far as I know anything with resin in, or anything with metal that isn't being sold in the EU, is made in PP's own US facility.
Metal-only models sold in the EU are cast and distributed by cerberus entertainment under sub-license in bootle, england. (you can tell when a pack/blister has a packing slip with initials in it, where the US plant uses numbers)
That last one I'm 100% sure of, as one of our local gaming group actually got a summer job there packing models ~2 summers back.![]()
Though it is expected that PP do their best to put out awesome high quality models like The Stormwall, there is really nothing wrong with thanking them. Its like going to a coffee shop and thanking the girl working the register for giving you your order. It's just good manners.
The equivalent to that would be a "Thank you email". The equivalent to posting a topic like this is yelling "Thank You" to said coffe girl so everyone in the shop can hear it. It just has an appearance of being needy of attention (not saying that is the case, but it has the apearence).
The reverse is also true - starting a thread to say "My Stormwall (or whatever model) is not perfect" is the equivalent of yelling "this coffee is not right" in a coffee shop... Why is it acceptable to start a thread saying "This is wrong" but not one saying "This is right", when there are non public methods of doing both?
Zerkova: Fools! How hard can it be to kill one measily elf? Where the hell is he anyway?
Narn: I is in your base, killing all your doodz!
Zerkova: Harsh!
Actually, I would post a thread about a flawless cast Stormwall, because it would be something extrordinary. All 8 Stormwalls I've seen opened up so far have horrible mold-slips on the legs, and pretty bad ones on the bicep pieces. I'm talking about legs so bad that simple filework is not going to cut it, because there's 2-3mm of misalignment in multiple axis. Personally, I've already cut off the pistons on the back of the legs, and just plasticard/rod'ed new ones, they were so bad. Most of the other Stormwalls I've seen at my LGS have the same problem, just the owners don't really care as much to do more than just paint over it.
QUOTE (PPS_Mod:Josh @ Sep 1 2008, 03:45 PM)Because 'Organized Groups of Highly Trained Individuals Supported By Military-Industrial Complexes Engaging In Large-Scale Conflict In Support Of Their Nation, God, or Coin In A Fantasy Steampunk Setting' wouldn't leave enough room for the cover art.
Thank you PP, my Stormwall is great and assembled easily with very little cleanup compared to the other big resin models I've assembled!
.
Actually, it is more acceptable to express disgust with a product in a very public manner than expressing gratitude in the same public manner. The populous has a bigger interest on showing concern for receiving a defective product than showing gratitude for receiving a product as advertised. The latter (product as advertised) is expected, the former isn't (defective product). This why there are, for example, government agencies that handle false advertisement.

Here's some LOL's for you guys, be aware your "chinese factory" is about 20 people working nearly round the clock in two shifts to make these pieces for you...so be nice.
It's nearly a mom and pop operation, and I assure you, though I'm not a PP employee, they read these forums, and take what you say to heart.
