    Impaler is a must.

EBDT or bomber these are a matter of taste, I think I like the bomber as a default. (Either will work.)

I am a big fan of the Impaler, Axer, Earthborn combo.

I have been running him kind of beast heavy lately. 2 heavies = EBDT and Bomber, 2 lights = Impaler and Pyre. Whelps for fury management and it has worked pretty well. With pyre animus the bomber can hold its own in melee once you are engaged, ebdt is the heavy hitter, and impaler and pyre are utility beasts that can also put out a hurting.

As for the rest of the list I have been playing around with a lot of infantry choices. Nyss hunters, burrowers, and others.

Ebdt bomber impaler pyre and max fenns with ua is my preferred list right now. Ebdt usually doesn't even get in the game, with the bomber getting all my kills.

Oooooooooomg. I thought this was a spoiler for eGrim.

I like Bomber, Impaler, Rok. I used to run EB, but I like being able to turbo charge the Bomber or Impaler with Rok's animus. His spray is also good good on feat.

Might have to test this out myself. Sounds pretty nasty, and you get all the same effects with less points (compared to EBDT and pyre).

My bomber is the all star of my Grim list. In the past month he has 4 caster kills to his name. The amount of infantry he clears is also very big. Grim's set of tools just fits him perfectly (feat, snare gun, marked for death).

Well you do loose out on he EC + rough terrain sling shot. But I've been very happy with the trade off. And I'd like to take credit, but it's an idea that's been floating around the forums for a while.

Rok's also an amazing beast for any Gunny list, since he also likes good ranged but basically pillow-fisted in close combat beasts.

Hmmm. I was trying not buy Rok to keep my wallet fat and enjoy the same ole Grim list I usually take...however, you are absolutely right on this. Great idea, on both Gunn and Grim, as you have said. Not sure why I didn't put that combo together before.

Rok is made for Gunny. He may as well be his character beast.

I like EBDT, Bomber and Impaler. The Bomber & Impaler are practically Grim's best friends.
12" Knock Down gun + Bomber equals dead stuff.
I also generally take Burrowers, cause on Grim's feat turn they will kill everything.

    Impaler almost always
Earthborn almost as much.(His animus works so well with Grims already good defences)
Bomber almost as much as well.
Pyre and Slag are both excellent back ups.
The Swamp Troll is also good with him (and appropriate as Grim comes from Wythmoor)
I had successful list with all of the above but the Slag Troll. Grim can run very beast heavy if you're careful.

After reading this I'm goiing to have to get Rok painted ASAP.

I used a Mauler and an Axer, with an Impaler as soon as we got to 25pts, in our Journeyman League. Grims ability to lower DEF makes the Chain attack on the Mauler quite reliable (and fun).

Good lord do I wish he was Gunny's character beast. Oh well, maybe the Trukk will end up being sweet.

My old loadout with Grim was Bomber, Earthborn, Impaler, Slag - almost always. Puts out a ridiculous amount of firepower and Earthborn hangs out in the back waiting to roll whoever gets stuck in to the others. This had one main issue - namely that it didn't have much in the way for high Pow - so if it was a Bronzeback or something rolling in, Earthborn is getting upwards of Pow 17-18 with buffs! Not so great.

Rok is going there, and my test game with him showed he fits in great. Having the extra gun, particularly on feat turn is amazing. Being able to clear troops off the line instead of just heavy hitters! Solid. Starting out at Pow 18 always, and being able to hit Pow 20! Base Mat 7? Bringing Bombers to Mat 7 Pow 17 or Impalers to Mat 7 Pow 15 or Slags to Mat 8 Pow 15 x2! Being able to pitch in an extra Pow 14 on assassination runs with potential crit stationary? For the 1 point over an Earthborn he brings an almost ludicrous level of awesome to the playing field.

Axer with Earthborn? Why so? Don't peeps go pyre instead for the damage buff?

because ridiculous speed is ludicrous speed when you have rush on Earthborn.

also since the axer is one of our few lights to have high armor, elemental communion is pretty good on him as well.

There is the dream we all dare not dream.

Turn one your opponent looks at your force and thinking he's safe moves Butcher well onto the board. Thanks to elemental communion, Grim moves up 8 inches. Turn two Axer casts rush on Earthborne. Grim moves up and pops feat, casts Marked for Death, and shoots the Butcher. Then Lanyssa Ryssyl hits him with Hunter's mark. Your army clears the needed path and the earthborne charges.

Earthborne charges for free 16 inches to attack Butcher using P+S 20. Earthborn hits on anything but all 1's. And if Butcher moved towards your army it can happy on your turn 1.

And it's even better on hordes. If it's Xerxis, you only hit at P+S 18, but you hit him 7 times at hit armor. Even if he passes off to the beasts, you are causing some MAJOR pain.

The difference between a just and righteous warrior and a selfish and arrogant bully is razorwire thin and just as dangerous.
