Looks like one of the two units she can be a UA to is the MHSF. I am already terrified.

You have used the forbidden word! GASP!
Also, yes, the only saving grace may be that her solo forms are so good that they may choose them over a UA for an already good unit...but still...she looks like she will be very nasty.
Rasheth 2012: Chains we can believe in!
The other unit she attach to seems to be the guys that were shown at L&L.
I wonder if she will grant AD. If she does then we will be able to AD 2 units of MHSF without a theme list.![]()

WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
I love how he is worried that POW 10 might be too much for a pistol...in a game where the most common pistol by far is POW 12.
I guess the handcannon really is the IK equivalent of the Desert Eagle.
Personally though, all of this talk of reverse grips this and reverse angles that makes me a bit worried. I think Matt may be the only person alive who doesn't think Garryth's guns look clumsy and impractical.

Pistol CROSSBOW, not pistol. It is a bit implausible that a pistol crossbow could be the same pow as a crossbow within the same universe, but at the same time, we're in a universe where pistols are more powerful than rifles, on average, so I think he's in the clear. IK physics are beyond strange.
Very cool! Sounds pretty exciting - could be time to buy that second unit of MHSF...
Zerkova: Fools! How hard can it be to kill one measily elf? Where the hell is he anyway?
Narn: I is in your base, killing all your doodz!
Zerkova: Harsh!
The gun kata is based on statistical analysis of thousands or millions of gunfights in a fictional universe in which gunfights are much less random than in our universe. It is also performed by Batman.
If Garryth wants to provide a rigorous explanation of why his blades are that shape, and follow that up by starring as Batman in a professional production, his guns will receive an automatic pass.
They are still going to be rat 6 and they will not have phantom seeker, so they have to deal with LoS, and terrain effects. They are also still dealt with sprays, AoE, and the like. She will be a epic 2 named UA so at min 3 points she is going to STRONG, ret already has strong infantry, so cries of broken will already be there.

Also, y'know, the range that they do them in, just stab him. Seriously. Can't use his fancy gun moves if he can't breath. Or really ANYTHING unexpected, your mathematical fighting equations stop working when unexpected elements are thrown in. Ever see anyone attempt stances and such in a real fight? It's like that.
Was a stupid, stupid movie and Gunkata is a joke in every group of friends I've had.

Kind of the exact point. It LOOKS cool. You cannot deny it looks impressive. But when your brain kicks in for even a moment, you realize how dumb it is. Still looks cool.
For instance, how about the idea of the Conquest using over 3,000 lbs of coal for only 45 mins of combat time. This is cool because it shows how inefficient the Khadoran engineering is compared to Cygnar's. However, it is so impractical to be stupid. I do not believe that this world has the logistics to be able to transport THAT much coal for an extended campaign. At least in our world, we have had trucks and other methods than horse drawn cart or train to transport fuel for tanks and the like.
In the blog, Matt even mentions about the silly long cape. Yeah, makes no sense. Doesn't matter. Looks cool and conveys the overall aesthetic and message of the concept.
For love. For honor. For Devilsquid.
that movie was awesome. it doesn't have to be possible to be entertaining and visually appealing. why do jedis carry light sabers when they could just break their opponent's neck with the force?
the gun katas were the least of the improbable things in that movie. an entire society of people with no emotion is much more improbable.
You people are all freaking nuts. Equilibrium is one of the best movies ever made. Why are you people playing a game with magic and top heavy combat robots with brains if you can't get past gun katas? Really... nuts... all of you. Beyond nuts.
I like the thought of an Eiryss Unit Attachment, because I personally think Eiryss is a cool character.
I am still waiting for Retribution to get Markerlights, or something equivilant to it. You know your going to make it as some point P.Press. Hurry up and bite the bullet already...
gunkata was a cool enough concept to hand it on to eCaine.
Equilibrium had a plot you could drive an F1 car through. that wasnt the point. it follows the rule of cool. end of. Great filmJust leave your brain at reception!
I just want to say that Equilibrium is a great movie and had it being called "Brave new 1984 the action movie adaptation" I wouldn't have complained![]()
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
cool idea I love looking at artist thumb nails to see there brain thinking. Also I draw in pen at work and found it vary relaxing I guess its just how the blog says it. You don't worry about detail and perfection when your going strait to pen for doodling.
Cryx are tough guys. Tough guys wear pink.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm confusing baseline CR with the optional Character Restricted variant.
Personally, I think I prefer the version of the crossbow in the lower left hand corner, it reminds me of the Invictor gun-blade but in crossbow form. And it seems more plausible than Garryth's style of gunblade, which I still can't wrap my head around.
I hope matt wilson will take a good look at the Infinity miniatures for great action-poses. I've been eying them for a while now and they have very dynamic posed mini's. It makes the Warmachine mini's often look static and very much alike.
As a tangent to a tangent, I may be the only guy who enjoys when a thread goes completely off the rails like this. I mean we don't really know much about Eiyriss the third, but people seem to be pretty worked up about this Gunkata thing (that I've never heard of before). So, now I have a new rabbit-hole to check out (and I can stop thinking about Big Blue's boobs (for awhile))!
Hand Cannons are the Desert Eagle's of the IK - actually the are the hand designed, pack as much punch as possible and often enhanced Desert Eagle customs. Each Handcannon is a custom designed superior work of engineering - this is why you don't see handcannon units.
Pistols are certainly not more powerful than rifles on average. On average, Pistols are Pow 10 and Rifles tend from 10 with a long range to 11 with a shorter range to 12 for elves. The most common basic rifle is Rng 10 Pow 11. Still not as much discrepancy as you would think between pistols and rifles, but there is a difference there. If you want to talk Handcannons then you have to start talking Vanar Liberators and the various Pow 13+ rifles that casters have.
Stay on topic, please.

Eiryss3 = technological anaphylaxis: any non-Myrmidon warjack(s) within 5" of this model cannot be allocated focus and all upkeep spells on non-Myrmidon warjack(s) immediately expire.
Just thinking, besides sculpt, how can she be more 'epic' without being EPIC...
I was thinking she might have something like: Technological Feedback: Every time a non-myrmidon warjack within 5" of Eiryss uses a focus point, its controller suffers D3 damage.
That would really drive home her hatred of warjacks. At first she threw a fit and refused to do anything if one got too near. Then she started interfering with them, and now she actively punishes users of warjacks.
