    Default Trying eGrissel @ 50pts

Hello peoples, i picked up eGrissel and Calandra while at L&L and have been playing with Calandra quite a bit. I figured it was time to give Grissel some games this weekend and see if she can take over for eDoomy as my top 3.

Here is what i was going to try out with her. I am factoring in character restrictions as Calandra gets Mulg and Grim gets Rok in my other lists.

    eGrissel

    Impaler
    Bomber
    Mauler
    EBDT

    max Fens w/ UA
    min Scattergunners w/ UA

    Janissa
Runebearer/2 Geists/Whelps (not sure how i want to use the 2pts yet)

Reinforcements (if needed) will probably be Nyss or Gators.

We always play scenarios in our games, so this is designed with scenario play in mind. Good jam unit with Fens, and SGs follow up getting nice spray lanes. The beasts do what they do and Grissel/Bomber are ideally going to finish the job. The other option would be to drop SGs and the 2pts for max Burrowers and a Fellcaller, but i will probably try both.

Any thoughts or suggestions on the list? I have never used Grissel before so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

First game with her was against a Rasheth shooting/brick army. I ran:

    eGrissel

    Impaler
    Bomber
    Mauler
    EBDT

    max Fens w/ UA
    Runeshapers
    min Stones

    Whelps
    Fell Caller

I ended up losing the game as i couldnt do much with everything being -4 to -6 Strength, i went for the kill and failed, getting eGris killed the following turn.

My 2nd game was against another Skorne army, and i think he was playing pMorghoul. I ran a beast heavy list.

    eGrissel

    Rok
    EBDT
    Mauler
    Bomber
    Axer
    Impaler

    max Stones

    Whelps

I was able to kill off some infantry after i got jammed by Nihilators and we both engaged pretty quickly. Turn 4 or 5 i was able to get a bead on Morghoul, knock him down with eGrissel so he wouldnt Geist away and sent a Mauler through some free strikes into his grill. I rolled like crap, not rolling more than 4 damage per attack but with 7 attacks he was still a tasty snack for my Mauler.

Overall, i enjoyed the feel of the beast heavy list over the list with infantry but i think having at least a unit of Fens w/ UA or Nyss for jamming or the counter jam is worth it.

Anyone have any suggestions for eGriss?

I have played her with full Fennblades, Champions, the Wagon, Mauler, Axer and typical support.
I use Dash to ram the Fennblades into the opponent as fast as possible. So much fun

I think infantry heavy with the Wagon is so effective and fun. I've played Khador and Cryx the two times I've played her btw.
Khador with WG Deathstar and support, Cryx with Thralls/Tartarus. I forget their exact lists :/

Both times I just locked them up and pound/chip away with my army or assassinate with Dash (no free strikes on Fenns that are that close to the enemy caster is sweet).

Not much advice really, but it's what has worked for me so far. Good luck!

Bit surprised that the beast bricked worked out since you get almost no use of Dash.

I recommend Kw over fennblades for E Grissel tbh. Grissel doesn't boost damage output and KWs handle that department better than FB IMHO

This is probably great advice. If there is one area I've struggled with is the Fennblades damage output once they're jammed in. They're main advantage is reach. But I will try those Kriel Warriors tomorrow.

I think I want to try Long Riders in there as well. But I'm not sure what to replace.

Dash was actually quite useful, allowing the Stones to stay within range of the beasts for the whole game.

I want to try this one next, i just want to see how my opponent would deal with that many large bases on the table at once.

eGrissel (or could be Grim/Jarl, any caster with survivability)

    Bomber
    EBDT
    Mauler
    Axer
    Impaler

    max Long Riders
    Horthol

    It just looks fun.

Even with dash kw are not as quick as fenns. Personal preference really. Though i have even ran both on her with success. Kw are on one side while fenns initial jam picking up the kw slowness
