Default Box worth it for an Ecaine List?

Looking to venture into my first Cygnar list and was wondering if the plastic starter box is worth getting when making an Ecaine list? From what I know I'd like to include, probably not as i wont use the caster or arc node. I know I'd like to include the ATGMs, Rangers and Black 13th. Not quite sure what else as I'm not familiar with Cygnar as nobody I know plays them. Ol' Rowdy worth it or take an Ironclad and put the points toward a squire?

Up to you... There really aren't any lemons in the starter, and I have run Caine2 well with 2 Ironclads in the past (Madness I know). You are probably better off though going Caine2 and Rowdy as Rowdy tends to save you a lot of focus and the extra Mat is nice as well.

You probably want Renholt and the squire to maximize his feat, but I have played him in all sorts of weird lists because he is awesome.

    My usual list for eCaine

    eCain
    -Stormclad
    -Squire

    Stormblades + UA
    Precursor knights + UA (full)
    Black 13th
    Gorman
    Reinholdt

At 35 points that leaves you with 3 points to play with and 18 at 50.

I like playing him with a beatstick army that is pretty self sufficient. Then they open a hole for him to get the assassination.

I think the Ironclad is legit with eCaine, but ideally you'd want to take Ol'Rowdy instead; that thing is a monster with eCaine and the one focus boosted Tremor is godsend.

Think a tarpit unit is needed? Was thinking maybe boomhowlers, but I sort of like the idea of longgunner for a more shooty feel.

Does your local area play scenario much? What point level is the standard in your meta? You will want a slightly balanced list with eCaine. He can do a lot of heavy lifting on his own but if you have to control a zone he is not the model to do it. O and Boomy with Heightened Reflexes is just a lot of fun. 4 up tough on a unit that cant be knocked down .

You almost always will want the UA on the ATGM. It may not seem worth it but he is the true bite in the unit for me. He bring two completely awesome things to the table. 1... True Sight. When all 7 of them ignore stealth it is a very good thing. 2... Here is the kicker. Rune Shots to Jacks he controls. Think about this. A hunter on the Dude is short 1" of shooting into their deploy top of turn one. That means almost anything they AD in the general "in front of the hunter" is in range. Add to that Magic bullet into anything within 4" of that model and you could potentially take out two important solos before they even activate.

    10" deploy
    7" deploy
    6" AD
    6" walk
    14" range
    4" snipe
..47" first activation range. With pathfinder.

I find it so hard to play a game without running a Defender on them with Strangeways in tow for the extra FOC.

You are most defiantly going to want Rangers. As amazing as Rat 9 is Rat 11 with mark target or Rat 13 standing still is just bonkers. When the stars align and eCaine gets both of those buffs at the same time with no de-buff. Well try and hold back the smile as your opponet picks models up off the table.

It does not happen often but when you get to stand on a hill behind a wall with eCaine two things become apparent. 1 He has blur on him so he is DEF stupid+9 or he is just DEF stupid +6 and cant be knocked down. If your opponent is nice enough to walk his caster/lock within 12" of eCaine and not behind a LOS blocking med/large/huge base you get to pop feat and watch them get riddled with holes....ever increasingly larger holes that make him/her bleed or their beasts explode.

By the way... be kind when playing eCaine. You don't want to loose friends because of it.
Most people say that what some people say is pretty stupid.

I don't use any parts of the battle box in my eCaine list. I honestly don't think it's a great buy, if you're not just getting into the game trying stuff out.

Don't feel hated it, but if you want to play a specific caster, you'll be better off spending your money on the exact stuff for the list

Well I don't usually get to game out at all, due to the fact that I'm usually watching my 18month old son, so most of the gaming is done in my home and a few friends. Although in the future I'd like to get out and play locally.
