    Default ranged lists

So I am gonna straight out and say it I'm frustrated & struggling. My biggest problem is play style... I have a desperate need for ranged...so here is two 25pt lists that might help me any suggestions/inputs?

    EMakeda +5
    TG 8
    Min unit Nihilators 5
    Min Arcuarii 6
    2x min unit Reivers 10

The second list swaps TG for Cannoneer...

    What do you all think?

the list needs more beast because you do not have that much fury. i would say drop the 1 unit of reivers take raider at least
Menoth goal is to play 146 more games in the next 6 months
painting (tfg and ua, and bastions, )

I agree that one beast isn't enough for eMakeda. You'll probably be casting Road to War a lot, and lone beasts tend to be target number one for opponents.

I do like all the min units though. You can send them in in jamming waves against a lot of opponents while the rest of your army keeps firing. I might swap either the Nihilators or one of the Venator units for a Raider, as J.P. suggested.

If your playstyle just needs a little firepower, then I'd suggest taking a Cannoneer + Extoller, and leave it at that. I've also been frustrated by a lack of ranged power in the past, and I've found that that's enough of a ranged game to kill off support models and give me the options I need to deliver my melee forces effectively.

If you want more ranged than that, though, here's my suggestion:

    EMakeda (+5)
    *Titan Cannoneer (9)
    *Cyclops Raider (5)
    *Cyclops Shaman (5)

    6 Venator Rievers (5)
    *Officer and Standard (2)
    4 Paingiver Beast Handlers (2)

    Extoller Soulward (2)

So not as many infantry as you were thinking, and its melee is going to be fairly weak except on the Feat turn. I've never tried a list like this before, so I don't really know what to expect from it. If you think it fits your playstyle, I'd say give it a whirl. I do know that Lord Tyrant Watt ran something similar with eMakeda for a while after the faction book came out.

It's got a lot of guns with a satisfying ranged sucker punch in the form of a Cannoneer with Leash and Far Strike under Road to War (25" threat with the gun), and Venators under Road to War and Extend Fire (24" threat). The Shaman is mainly there to help spam Far Strike; he and the Raider both get a respectable 22" threat under Road to War.

The main idea for this list the way I see it is to keep the enemy at arm's length for the first couple of turns, and let them close with you. In scenario, play not to lose at first. Then, use eMakeda's speed and feat in an all-out charge. Even Rievers are good at melee when their attack rolls are boosted.

Id rather go ehexy or something if I wanted ranged. Don't see any synergy with makeda.

EMakeda has some synergy with a ranged army. She gives them longer threat ranges, and makes them downright good at melee for a turn with her feat. Her huge threat ranges mean that she often decides where the fight happens. Road to War and Leash make her troops fast enough that she doesn't really have to worry about the enemy gaming threat ranges against her. Meanwhile, if they get too close, she can charge them. If they send in waves she can focus fire without worrying too much about range. It's not always easy to pull off, especially in scenario play where there are contol zones to worry about, but the synergy is there, at least in theory.

Perhaps someone who's run a list similar to this one can comment on it. I'm in pure theorymachine territory myself.

Black Spot is an amazing spell for any ranged weapon, for sure, and eHexy is probably the best warlock for a balanced mix of melee and ranged.
