    Default The switch!

So, at DieCon this past weekend, my good buddy Matt (Gearloop) and I decided to switch armies to have a ton of fun in the Hardcore tournament.

I gave him my EHexeris list and he gave me his Harbinger list. I had a blast! Playing Menoth reminded me so much of why I loved Skorne in MK1. There was so much control over the board and I was able to dictate the flow of battle, frustrate my opponents and really make them think.

I had never played Menoth before and ended up going 5-1, only losing my first game to another good opponent. I had really hoped for lucky draw in round one to get a warm up game in.

The funny thing was, in round 4, Matt and I got paired up against each other. We had a lot of fun and the game was real close until the Avatar rolled a 4 on his focus and my dice became blessed by the Creator himself and the Avatar killed a fully healthy Bronzeback and nearly killed a fully healthy Gladiator in the same turn, only to have a Reckoner finish it off in a single swing.

So, with that said, thank you Matt for my gateway tourney to lead me into the arms of the Creator.

Finally, you guys will probably see "High Executioner Watt" on the scene real soon.

Well Welcome aboard then, you can deposit your whips and knives on the left, and you will find new swords and some re-purposed wracks to the right.

Personally, I look forward to seeing you compare the two factions playstyles in the future.

Protectorate and Skorne definitely have some similarities as I own both but they are both fun. Welcome to the side of the Creator.

There are a lot of great Protectorate players out there! Phatasian, Jeremy Lee and ME for starters!

I GUESS I will allow Watt's opinion on our boards though :P

I for one welcome our new Skorne overloards. It will be worth it just to check out your painted Protectorate models. Assuming you didn't get Matt to switch to Skorne...that would be bad news...

MORE was the operative word there Despite the fact that there are multiple people who do really well at tournaments, people still complain that we don't place enough. I disagree, but adding Watt to our ranks will boost that either way.

Well, Phatasian just won Diecon Masters and I won Wargamescon Masters on the same day so it seems like this is a good time to be a Menite. To be fair though Watt, Menoth doesn't apprecite heresy so to be successful, you might have to renounce your elephants and follow only the true path...

Mike, what was your third caster for master?

PS: This is Jesse who played you round 3 in the Harb vrs Harb.

Hey, congrats to Phat Asian and you, other mike. Looking forward to those BatReps. And welcome to you, ” High Executioner” Watt. Not surprised with you're success on your first outing. Good to also hear that Matt is back from his recovery and playing games again.

What's up Garrett? Tough game that one. I played EFeora for third list. I had played her, pSev and Harby so I had my choice and Steven was locked into Ossyan but I had my choice. Big advantage.

I've decided to pickup Menoth as my warmachine faction to pair with my skorne as well, but I don't think I can renounce my titans :P Maybe I can just use them as weapons of the creator

When Watt was making up his new title at the CON, he fumbled his words when calling himself "Grand Scrutator".... and for a few minutes we enjoyed a laugh at the expense of "Grand Scuba-diver Watt"... But I think "High Executioner Watt" sounds better anyway.

Other_Mike, congrats! Any chance of a tournament report?

Watts, welcome! It will be interesting to see your take on our forces.

+1 for Welcoming Watt! Welcome to the group! Seems like Menoth has a shot at taking WMW! Now if we could just get Flanzer to come back as well =)

I imagine Gearloop would have done quite well with your Hexxy2 list, he plays pretty similarly to Sevvy1 (disclaimer: you might have some unconventional Hexxy2 list that makes this comment irrelevant).

I play both and I LOVE THEM! They are both similar, Skorne likes buffs towards offence while Menoth tends to get survival type buffs. Only drawback is that it CAN be just a bit too similar.

I, on the other hand, played both and lost my freaking mind. Totally sapped the fun out of the game for me. One had to go, and my dear, sweet Skorne got the boot.

Aw man, now I'm going to be upstaged at my own LGS!

On the other hand, maybe this means I'll have a shot in faction-based leagues and events!

So guys, this is really happening. I finished painting a minimum unit of Chior today. I also assembled and primed a Reclaimer, The Covonent and a Vassal.

I also have a Vanquisher half painted and I plan on assembling a Templar and pKreoss this evening.

Im so looking forward to getting them on the table. The new jack kit can't come soon enough!

I will be attending warmachine weekend. I feel that it's the best event of the year and it's only a four hour drive for me now.

Ill try and get it posted this weekend. It's kind of a brownish/orange with grey. Very drab colors. I wanted them to look like they've been out in the desert, so they are kind of all rusted looking.
