    Default Nation specific supplement books

I wonder if we can expect to see supplement books covering the aspects of the various nations. I'd love to have books dedicated to the unique parts of each area. What style architecture is prevalent, primary exports, how the citizens generally go about their day, what prejudices the people have and what are the national holidays there are and such. Would be a good place to have the more nation specific character career options too.

Yes we will. The second book is dealing with the iron kingdoms so khador PoM cygnar and I think cryx. The other nations and the wilds will be in later books. I'm really excited for the second book and hope it will be out this year but I doubt it.

You're jumping the gun here (though less so than the RPG specific miniatures thread). After the three initial books I too wonder if this is the direction they will go. It really depends on what level of detail they want to explore a topic - the original world guide covered enough detail on the 5 human nations for me, but not enough on Rhul Ios and Cryx - since then of course the different nations have all been developed to a greater extent by the expansion of Warmachine and Hordes. (We now know of a lot more differing factions and characters than we did in the IK world guide, and PP have created a lot of new content through the wargame now).

I would expect a book on Cryx, one on Rhul, one for Ios and one on the Skorne - as well as at least one covering the human nations, again though it really does depend. They might do a book on elves (Which would be Ios + the Nyss and could also cover Everblight and his creatures). I'd love a book on magic (especially because I fear the initial release will make the myriad of different magic systems in in use in the IK all very similar), this magic book could cover thamarites, infernals and the circle druids as well as the fraternal order and greylords - then you may also get the divine casters int here, so menoth, Ios and morrow.

Every single topic I've mentioned could get it's own book of course - and it may be they adopt a more broad release design - so rather than tying into a single area they go for releasing a combat themed book (new careers for all races based on different combat styles throughout the iron kingdoms). It really does depend probably on initial sales - the feedback they get and the amount of design work they can put in. (A book on Ord or a book on just Five fingers for example - Ord would be potentially more interesting but the Five Fingers book was really good).

I hope they give us some idea of the direction future releases will go though - other lines I collect (the 40k rpg for instance) were very sloppy for a long time and only settled into a decent direction for organizing their content later in the shelf life of the game. (And it still needs more work).

While I know there are a lot of people that don't like the Wizards of the Coast "book every other month" idea, I'm not one of those people. I personally love it when there's a new book about some aspect of the setting, with new game mechanics and options, coming out on a fairly frequent basis. 6 books a year may be a bit much for Privateer Press (I don't know how many writers they have devoted to IKRPG right now), but even 3 or 4 books a year would be great. I'd certainly buy em all.
It's not a question of win or lose, it's a question of whether or not you want to have friends afterwards.

Just because the initial 3 books will be broad overviews; including more details on the civilised and then wild areas of the Iron Kingdoms - well that's just an initial splerge and won't really be the trend for all future books (I think). So I don't expect the book of the wilds 2 to come out the year after and then expand all the stuff from the wilds 1 - at least I hope not (that's the D&D model and it's not a good way imo).

I am also slightly disappointed by their initial 3 book release. It means that the chances of getting a dedicated book on say Cygnar or Khador is very low (despite the fact I think their's easily enough good content in either of those kingdoms to get a whole book to itself). However it could be that they felt that the key overviews of important parts of the iron kingdoms including the rules for different types of magic (I hope we get different types of magic besides, magic, focus and fury), differet parts of the world and also covering all the angles that the new audience (Warmachine and Hordes Players) warranted more than 1 initial book. I have high hopes that after covering as best they can all these major areas of the Iron Kingdoms that more detailed books will come in the future (including focus on individual nations, factions and so on).

I also wonder how many "adventures" if any PP will be planning to produce - personally I usually don't buy pre-done adventures and prefer setting books. (That said The Witchfire Trilogy is an exception to that, and I have run it as written for the most part so we'll see what PP can do).

As for a book a month - PP's previous books have all been enjoyable and high quality. I'd rather they maintained that quality first and foremost, and expanded the publishing rate only when they could do it without that loss. (though I have no doubt the amount of content available in their setting could fuel many books).

In regards to my jumping the gun, I guess I should have stated I was meaning for the future. With PP dedicating time, effort and money into even bothering to release a second incarnation of the rpg I assume they are in this for the long haul and I am more or less musing on what I think would be cool to see in the future. I would love it personally if it was a more immediate future but I very well know better.

Also, I think that if they make nation specific supplement books it could appeal to faction fanatics who have no interest in playing the rpg but wanting to know more about their chosen nation. The architecture part was mention from a very selfish stand point of wanting to make more accurate building models for factions with more exotic building designs.

I would absolutely love to see a book on the complete history of Khador. I really don't even care if it contains rules for the game or faction specific options (though those things wouldn't be unwelcome ), but I've been DYING for a series of novels so it kind of goes without saying I'd buy this in a heartbeat.
