    Default eDoomy 35pt w/ Mulg

    Dire Troll Mauler

    Mulg the Ancient
    Trollkin Runebearer

    Horthol, Long Rider Hero

    I've been running something similar at 25pts but without Mulg and add in an Axer and Swamp Gobbers.
    Thoughts? I play against a lot of Retribution and Menoth.

    Horthol & Mauler are really unnecessary. If you want a damage buff, a Pyre is really the way to go especially against Menoth. A Bomber & Axer would help as well to give the team Rush.

    I used to run the Bomber, but he just wasn't doing very well after turn 2. Plus he seemed to excel when taken with an Impaler for obvious reasons, but I don't need an Impaler with Mulg or really anything else.
    I have yet to field Horthol, so why does he make the mauler unnecessary?

    I personally don't get the mauler is unnecessary thing. Horthol's unnecessary because he simply isn't worth the point in E doomy list. Their relationships do nothing for each other.

    Krielstone and or whelps are so much better for E doomy.

    You absolutely need Whelps in that list and that solo needs to go too. My 25 point list since I bought an EBDT is:

    eDoomie
    EBDT
    Mulg
    Axer
    Runebearer
    Swampgobbers


    Read over the eDoomie sticky posts in the Trollblood section. It specifically points out which models are must haves and which ones are horrible.

    Now if I were doing 35 points against menoth I would go something like this:

    Edoomie
    Dire Troll Bomber (for clearing out menoth troops)
    Eartborne Dire Troll (for the cannon ball through forests)
    Mulg (use the EBTD animus on him for the +2 spd and goad your way up the board)
    Pyre Troll (for the dmg buff and the immunity vs fire)
    10 Whelps (For the regen, blocking charge lanes, giving -1 to hit on enemies, fury management, throwing them at solos for knockdowns and to use them as Dire bomber targets if they are easier to hit.

    I always run the Axer, rush is great for the extra 2" of movement and pathfinder. I managed to trample Mulg 14" through the enemt lines to get the caster in my last game. With thresher and wild aggression he's also really good at clearing out infantry.

    I don't do this but I need to look at including whelps in my lists. With the runebearer you can cast refuge twice on the feat turn and have 2 beasts charge 13", kill stuff, goad back then advance another 10" back into your lines. Doesn't work if your beast franzy though.
