    Default Ravyn 35 all rounder

    How would this hold up in SR12? Focus is on enough bodies for taking zones, objectives and flags while getting the most out of Ravyns ranged focus feat. Snipe on the invictors.

    Ravyn, Eternal Light +6
    - Hydra 9 pts
    - Griffon 4 pts

    Dawnguard Invictors 10 pts
    - Leader & 9 Grunts
    - Officer & Standard 2 pts

    Dawnguard Sentinels 9 pts
    - Leader & 9 Grunts
    - Officer & Standard 2 pts

    Stormfall Archers 5 pts
    - Leader & 3 Grunts

    the "budget" version would be downgrading the invictors to riflemen and the sentinels to halbardiers. Would that be a more point efficient use?

    I think its a good list, the hydra will scare most squishy unstealthed things, but you're only taking it for its gun so its an expensive shot and it will only get the additional benefit for one round, but you'll be able to get it boosted with some of the focus it'll be keeping I guess.

    I'd downgrade the sents to halberdiers, having the giffon by the invictors will let them shoot and also hit as hard as sentinels with flank.
    That gives you 2 points for a solo, whilst the units you've got are good, you're going to need to push them further forward in order to get the points on objectives whilst stopping any contesting, the solo behind would allow for an easy capture if its a flag, I'm not sure what solo as they're all good personally, I'd probably go for either the magister or a scyir, as they are fairly tough and can hit hard, but a ghost sniper would also be nice as its an extra ranged threat which does auto 3 points to things

    Similar advice:

    Downgrade Sentinels to Halberdiers
    Add an arcanist
    Upgrade the Hydra for Discordia

    The benefits an arcanist provides cannot be overstated - repairs, free focus and a +2 melee damage buff are all golden especially on an army that lacks any heavy with a POW above 17 (and your original list lacks a POW above 14 not counting the Sentinels with weaponmaster).

    Similarly Discordia will generally get Ravyn more bang for her buck than a Hydra would, over the course of the game if you are lucky you will kill maybe 3 or 4 models with the Hydra's gun. Discordia with her RAT6 SP10 will typically net you at least that many in a single shot and comes with far better melee capability (MAT7 POW18 potentially vs the MAT6 POW14 of the Hydra in your list) and a handy aura to help protect your army against ranged and blast damage in particular.

    Fair enough downgrade wasn't the best choice of word, but if you are talking about damage output then they are a downgrade

    Here's a new version, debated on wether or not to use the 2 pts for UA to halbardiers or the ghost sniper. Since the halbardiers will be a unit to take objectives etc and spread out to be in the way i thought the Ghost Sniper might be of better use (and he can use Ravyns feat as well)

    opinions?

    I'd vote for the halberdier UA their mini feat is awesome.

    Also with stormfalls I generally take 2 units or none at all, i see 2 units of them as one module in a list.

    What would you suggest i move around in the list to fit in another unit of stormfall archers?
    Or what else to spend those 5 points on if i should drop the unit and take something else?

    As this is a 35pt list it can easily be seen as a "work in progress" towards 50pts.

    In a 35pt game considering the amount of shooting you already have I would say that the one unit is just fine. I do agree with Murk though about ditching the Ghost Sniper to add in the UA for the Halberdiers.

    The minifeat is indeed awesome, but even more awesome is the rerolling for CMD checks (never underestimate how often you may fail a terror test or CMD check for casualties) and reform, the amount of times that extra 3" movement at the end of their turn comes in handy is beyond counting. Its the difference between a SPD6 shield wall and a SPD9 shield wall.

    I'd only take one jack, ditch the one sniper, get the halberdier UA bring 2 units of stormfalls
