Somebody had to be crazy enough to follow through, Right?



There are two main conversions I want to do here:

1) the strider legs - the hard part here really only looks like it will be matching the waist to the strider's crotch. I might get a little wild with the posing if my test fits go well, but it will probably just have a very neutral pose.

2) aiming the guns down- I want them to look like direct fire weapons rather than long ranged siege weapons. No arcing fire confusion here. Right now I am thinking about using the grating from cyclone metal storms as couplings to angle the big guns down while keeping them on the rails, it may not be a good fit though.

I will also be leaning back the torso a bit to straighten his posture, but that seems to be a very easy mod and the kit lends itself to this well. I had this figured out in 5 minutes with only stock parts from the kit and no cutting. The head might need a little work so it isn't looking up but it should be very easy.

Thanks for the support guys. I know this isn't the first conversion of this nature done but I don't think anyone has walked through how they did it before. I also hope mine will be a bit taller, with a better join between the torso and crotch, and maybe with a more forward orientation if I can devise it. The first few days will be quiet as I prepare all those parts and clean up the mold lines.

P.S. yes, I will be painting it myself. I hope to get an airbrush soon and hopefully have it painted before the end of the year at the latest. I did my first storm strider by hand and, as enjoyable as it was, I don't want to spend all that time again on a stormcentaur and a second storm strider.

That's a Broken Egg tray there. Also, that wasn't really a conversion. Actually, the guy apparently magnetized his Stormwall at the waist as well as his Stormstrider. The happy accident is that he can swap the legs! Pretty sweet IMO.

Lots of progress this weekend. The hands, electrical coils, and foot won't be glued on for painting purposes, but They have been pinned and are ready.
I still need to fit the big guns and waist pistons on for permanent attachment, but they are both going to take more work than simply gluing them on due to the conversions associated with those areas. I also want to attach those hip plates with the lightning nodes somewhere but I'm ay a loss where to put them right now and I'm open to suggestions.

I made his base now that the legs are together and I have to say I am very satisfied with it.

Looking good though I would probably remove that piece on the bottom of the torso assembly that would normally fit the torso to the hips. I don't mean the whole thing just that part where it starts to taper back in.

I had to add that piece to the bottom as a riser so there would be clearance for the abdominal pistons and upper leg armor. I may add an armor plate on the front if it looks bad after the pistons are attached.

This looks really cool! Doesn't seem to difficult a conversion, so I'm guessing, we're going to see more of those in the future.

Now, there's one thing I'm wondering: as you probably used more or less half the storm strider and half the stormwall, did you ever think about using the spare parts to create a two-legged storm strider? I mean, if the stormwall easily fits on strider legs, shouldn't it be possible to fit the disco ball on the stormwall's legs?

High five to my brother-in-arms Cloud-Gatherer for his awesome storm-centaur. It is a very easy conversion if you do the two halves stock, but as you can see from comparing mine to his, mine will have a different posture. I'm hoping the forward-mounted guns give it a different feel.
I can't speak for Cloud-Gatherer but I only considered The wall-legged strider jokingly. I have other plans for my stormwall legs that will hopefully be completed by the end of the year.

When I decided I was going to do this conversion I turned to the storm strider expert, Agamemnon, who pointed me to an ebay auction for strider legs. When I build my second strider it will be pretty normal, but I'm waiting on a replacement crotch piece.

I can't wait to see the Judicator and see if this is a viable convision for it. I'm totally stealing this idea if so. Put some Menoflexes on the legs instead of bubbles.. yeah awesome.

And it is assembled! Well, almost. There are several parts not glued on and held together by pins but the coils wouldn't stay in place.




The hard part now will be finding a time it isn't too hot or too humid to prime it.

Yeah, this is pretty much the most awesome Colossal I've seen.

The only thing that will be more awesome will be when Agamemnon takes this idea and makes 10 more of them that all light up, dance, and cook you bacon.
