    Default Satyxis Questions

    1. How much do you use the Blood Witches and to how good/bad effect? Min or Max; UA or Not; with which Warcaster(s)?
    2. In the fiction, is Ravenmane the only Warcaster who employs the use of Satyxis?
    3. How useful is the Raider Caphtain's No Sleeping on the Job for both units?

    immunity to knockdown is situational but when it comes up it will be the best thing ever.

    I think terminus, before he went to the mainland, used satyxis but i could be wrong about that.

    1. Raiders + UA are an amazing jamming unit, screening unit, and semi-tarpit. Blood Witches + UA are a great anti-infantry unit plus some utility (Tough denial, upkeep removal). I don't recall using either in a min unit, though min Blood Witches + UA is still a great utlity unit.

    2. Couldn't say.

    3. I've found Knockdown protection is incredibly useful, though sometimes situational. Don't forget: The Raider Captain is also a Weaponmaster whose chain weapon ignores shields.

    1) The Bloodwitches were the first infantry I purchased and I've used them to great effects. I almost always take them as a Max unit with the UA. They're great at clearing out enemy infantry, and bring great utility in the hags ability to make them incorporeal and the witches ability to create a cloud wall. Yes, sometimes it's worth it to have your witches kill each other to create a cloud wall to protect the rest of your army. The casters I've run them successfully with are eGaspy, p/eSkarre, and Venethrax.

    With eGaspy I take a min unit so I can get the UA. The Blood Hag's anti tough/healing bubble and her dispel is the reason and really helps when brought back during feat turn. I like them with Venethrax because they make a great soul harvester target. Since Venethrax lacks a DEF debuff he likes units like the bloodwitches that have gang to improve their accuracy and a second attack. With p/eSkarre I usually run a high speed list with raiders/bloodwitches/blackbanes that focuses on swarming objectives as quick as possible and the one incorporeal turn the bloodwitches get really helps their staying power, although with eSkarre I usually have more jacks.

    2) In the fiction the Satyxis are usually seen with the Cryxian Naval fleets, so their commanded by either Skarre or Terminus, maybe the Coven.

    3) The No Sleeping on the Job is usually better for Raiders and Skarre. The raiders need their high DEF and mass knockdown really shuts them down. The Bloodwitches enjoy immunity to knockdown but they don't need it as much as the Raiders do, as they don't rely on high DEF to keep them alive.

    1. i consider myself a satyxis enthusiast and blood witches are my go to unit they are the apex of flexibility when used right with the right casters or support/followup units and solos such as biles purging through incorp witches(this being my fave also bring madelyn with em for slingshotting and you can sucker off on witches for her) or debufs/buffs (parasite/scything touch has them wrecking softer to medium armor jacks and you can always mini feat early and run them in for the jam and possibly take no losses if they cannot deal with incorp. and of course shutting down healing and tough is golden but the icing on the cake is that they only cost 8 points with ua which means you can afford to lose them in any way you so choose whether its baiting a charge, blocking lanes, or the most common jamming and retaliating. with two decent PS weapons, mat8 with gang blood strike they rock often killing more infantry than you have witches. they work espescialy well with either denny, coven, pskarre, venny, scavy and quite honestly almost any caster can use them effectively. they can preform well with out help, though in some cases such as pskarre saxon orik can be a big help just remember always take the UA never field them without the hag! and for the price of 8 points you cant go wrong with max unit size, taking a min unit just makes it easier to wipe them before they get out their full utilities.

    2. i dunno but coven has them in their theme list might be something there

    3. i only use raider captain with raiders.

    1. I mostly use a min squad with hag but with debuff casters I will run a max squad with hag. Pow 15 bloodwitches are pretty sweet. lol

    2. As others have said they are used in the naval fleets so you tend to see them with Skarre, Terminus, etc.

    3. The captain is good because of things in trolls like heroes tragedy, pop and drop feats, etc. Plus with Skarre it makes her immune as well which is amazing and protects her better.

    Yeah, I think everything regarding witches has been said already, but I'm always a fan of taking the Raider captain if you're fielding either Skarre. 2 points to be immune to knockdown is worth it. Plus, it's amazing how often that hand cannon comes in handy...starting a chain reaction on scrap thralls without having to waste something heavier is golden.

    No Diyx Cryx...Nuff said.

    The hornie girls of Cryx are all awesome, their only failing is having the option to flee, and so I use the girls with eSkarre... Great racks FTW!

    Well the mat is kinda meh for the raiders. lol I wish they had gang instead of cma. lol

    Meh, no matter CMA or gang, you still require two models in the unit to bump up the MAT, at least the Raiders have reach to cover more area for possible attacks, ganging up limits the area of killing/engagement.

    Gang just says melee range which is why gang is better since thats 10 attacks at mat 8 instead of 4 at mat 8. Plus with gang they can stay as spread out as they do now with the chains.

    Gang is easier to attain, but not better.
    You get more attacks with the bonus, but its only realistically against that one model you hanged up on.
    While it is fact, reach covers more ground.

    Both are welcomed is all I'm saying.

    1. Blood Witches are a fantastic unit. I always play them as a full unit with the UA to just stop tough or other healing effects, and going incorp for a turn is pretty huge.
    2. Skarre is the only one I have read about using Satyxis, but I know the Coven tier list allows for Blood Witches and the Coven fluff talks about raiding villages and butchering all the people so the next village will learn to fear, and the Blood Witch fluff talks about something similar.
    3. No idea, don't own a Raider Captain.
