Default Running a MANGLED METAL' TOOTH AND CLAW! i have some questions!

Hello all! I am running a mangled metal tournament next month and I am starting to have a few questions. I understand the main changes for the format: warcaster and jacks or warlock and beasts. I will be setting a 25 point limit and 7min timed turns. Now for the questions:

Any one have a good faq or guide for how to run a mangled metal?

Lesser warlocks? I assume no, but I want to make sure.

Jacks like the AVATAR ? I understand he cant have warjack points spent on him, is he allowed ?

Well any info would be great, thank you all for your time

Only warcasters/warlocks and models in their battlegroup. The only caveat to this is the Avatar. I'd allow him but can't have warjack points spent on him (it doesn't matter because you have 25 points).

Also, scenario would be Kill Box and victory conditions would be warcaster/warlock death or the death of all warjacks/warbeasts.

A mangled metal/tooth and claw is exactly that, no lesser warlocks, and no warjacks that can't be part of your battle group. I think the Avatar is the only one that falls into that category. I will say that it can be hard on the warlock. A warlock who losses his warbeast is on thin ice, where as depending on the warcaster, being out of warjacks isn't necesarily game over.

Just run it as a regular tournament. I've never run one that used scenario's except kill box which can be helpful as it reduces the space that some of the hit and run warnouns have to manuver. Spending 30 minutes chasing down a warcaster usually sucks.

    The Avatar is generally allowed.

The scenario you run should likely be "Mangled Metal" from Prime. The game ends when a caster dies or their entire battlegroup is destroyed.

I like 20 pts. I think that 25 doesn't really force any hard choices for MM.

Incorrect on the "battle group" only. It states a warlock/caster and jacks/beasts. So Avatar is most definitely allowed. He's a warjack. So no need in asking permission from the TO running the event.

I was about to say this. It's a very important difference, as most Protectorate players will tell you

Yeah I lost a bet on this one. I thought it was battlegroup only and we looked it up in the BRB and it states what I said. Lol. Colossals and Gargantuans will also be allowed in mangled metal/tooth and claw events.

I've played in Mangled Metal/Tooth and Claw events. They are tons of fun! One time we did no character Warjacks/Warbeasts which was kind of cool but it's not for everyone. Like others have said it is the scenario.

I have to wonder how the introduction of Warcaster/Warlock Units will effect the format..... Could be interesting.

Such as? Gorshade still gets his banes.... Darius gets his half jacks.... but for some reason I feel as though I am missing something here.

The new Makeda is a unit. Or something like that.
For I am The Ruiner of Games, and I have set my baleful eye upon Warmachine. Look in my wake and you shall see both Warhammer Fantasy and 40k. Tremble with fear as you see the mangled corpses of miniatures games piled high from countless years of slaughter.
