When casting a spell on a unit, such as pKreoss's Defensive Ward, do all the members of the unit need to be in the spell's range??

No, just the member of the unit you target needs to be in range.

If the wording on the spell is model/unit then yes. If its a spell that targets a model then its only the model that you cast it on who gets the benefit, if the spell targets a model/unit then everyine gets the benefit.
