Default Movement Mania with the Main Moustache!

    Hey All,

Playing in a Thornwood league down at the LGS and I plan to embrace fielding 5 different casters. MacBain!! is not usually one of my go to casters so I'd appreciate some feedback on the following list (designed for plenty of movement shenanigans)

    MacBain (+6) 35pts of Highborn
    Mangler - 8 (gets Failsafe)
Nomad - 6 (back up Failsafe target)
    Min Boomhowlers - 6
    Thor -2
marshalled Basher -7 (gets Countermeasured and stuck into enemies back line)
    Rorsch and Brine - 9

Leaving 3 points to be spent on either eEiryss (cause hey, she's Eiryss)
or on Sylys (to help with MacBains many good upkeeps and +2" for Jackhammer) and Reinholdt
I also considered switching to 4* and using the extra 3 pts to turn R&B into Wrong Eye, Snacks and a Bullsnapper

Feedback on yet another one of my crazy ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I'd actually be tempted to upgrade your Boomhowler unit to a full unit. You have so few models as it is (granted most are on larger bases), but there just aren't very many at all.

Khador may have been my first, but Mercs keep me coming back for more.

Yeah, and you want a good amount of models to take advantage of the feat.
    Freebooter VS Nomad
This is assuming charging, and against a knocked down target with armor 20 (average d6 roll is a 3.5)
    Freebooter: 14+14=28 14+10.5=25 for a total damage of 13
    Nomad : 17+10.5=28 14+7=21 for a total damage of 9

Many thanks for the advice, I really don't need much convincing to max out Boomhowlers. My only concern is that with Failsafe and Countermeasures upkept MacBain very little focus left for allocation or Jackhammer and Energizer tricks.

As I said, I've rarely played with MacBain and am never sure what style of list to build.

It was Energizer that got me thinking about a list based on using movement shenanigans to create unexpected threat vectors.

I'm open to other peoples ideas on how to run the Main Moustache.

If you want even more movement, then consider Lanyssa or Anastasia. If you can keep them alive long enough ( feat), you have one awesome turn that will probably cripple your enemy's army. If you have a highborne list, then they both have AD so try to run them in cover on the first turn and stay there untill

Anastasia has Ambush, which makes her survival that much more likely.
