    Default Starry Night Glitter Cloak

I've been asked to paint a mini with a cloak that's literally made of the night sky. Instead of just painting on white dots, i'd like to have some sort of glitter effect so that as you turn the mini, each point glows bright or dark as the light hits it. The problem is, i cant find a glitter fine enough to work on something so small. It'd have to be almost powder. Any suggestions, either on product or technique?

Maybe Vallejo Metallic Medium? Just mix it into the paint you're using and it should end up shimmery. I've not used it myself but it seems feasible. Someone else may have more info for ya.

You could do as above, or on a navy metallic paint (maybe an enamel?) or a flat navy, use a stippling/splattering effect to make random sized and placed stars. I've used an old tooth brush and put some paint on it and then run my thumb over the bristles, and it creates great and really random splatters. Just a thought in case you can't find something else out.

I might combine the above techniques - do the white splattering effect followed by a thin layer of metal medium. But, tbh, both the techniques sound like they'd be worth testing on something first.

Interesting you brought up the glitter thing today. My two girls have Disney Princess Color Wonder Glitter pages. The glitter on those pages are super fine. I had a little freak out today as they were waving the finished pages around my work area and the glitter was just flying!

a custom paint show could make you up a clear enamel with a metallic flake in it. would look awesome!
