new Legion player - best matchups?

hi...

as the title says, I'm soon to give up my Cryx and Trolls for a year or so and become a new Legion player...I'm trying to lock down on my first two casters. Ideally I want to go for two casters that compliment each other in terms of matchups.

I've chatted with a few people and have the kinda settled on eLylyth and pThags as my pairing as they seem to have most match-ups well covered but I wanted to see what you guys thought?

· Cryx
· Cygnar
· Circle
· Mercs

pThagrosh
· Skorne
· Trolls
· Menoth (not great matchup but can handle)
· Minions
· Legion

I'm also looking at Saeryn but have less ideas about her matchups...can anyone help? and who would you replace out of the above two warlocks if you were swap her in?

thanks for any advice, I'll keep reading the forums and various websites out there too...hopefully going to enjoy my time with Legion

I don't know that eLylyth wants to face Cryx. That's a lot of fast moving hard hitting infantry.

pThagrosh is also fairly good against both wolf and stone types of Circle.

saeryn doesn't actually have any bad matchups. she is better vs hordes just because ranged grivious wounds is crazy powerful to help lock a caster down to kill, and her feat is bonkers in most scenario play. but she is perfectly fine killing jacks as well and brings plenty of tools to the table for killin beasts and killing infantry, sniping out supoort, she can do it all .i would tend to replace pthags with her. and take her in any match that is going to be spell focused or spell denial.

It's hard to think faction wise since all war-noun bring something different. But what i think you will have problem against is the high def hard hitting infantry, like pIrusk with nysshunters, kayazy and deathstar or pDenny with nysshunters and croes.

And i can't with good graze recommend, anyone new to legion, to start playing eLylyth. She is boring. Take eVayl and you will have a lot more fun and your opponents will swear at you the same Save eLylyth for tournament play
