Anti Cygnar + Retribution - Terrible List 35 points
Hi guys,
Am quite new, so please be gentle on me if this list seems utterly stupid...
Note that I am happy with my Butcher list as my go to list. This list is designed to take on shooty lists, which I feel that Butcher will suffer against - mainly Cygnar and Ret.
Hence Karchev as my second tourney list.
Karchev -5
Juggernaut 7
Juggernaut 7
Juggernaut 7
Juggernaut 7
EEiryss 3
6 Battle Machanics 3
6 Battle Machanics 3
6 Battle Machanics 3
I'm considering this as an anti Cygnar (Specifically anti collossal) list due to the huge threat range I can get with Karchev and Tow spell. Even in Haley's Temporal Barrier I can use Karchev to tow a Jugger displacing it comething like 10" in a turn, before it gets to move 4" and apply axe to face.
(Works if Karchev slightly ahead of Jugger. Uses Turbine to get +2" move + pathfinder. Casts tow spell, advances 0" while within 2" of Jugger. Moves 6" forwards. Moons the enemy. Places Jugger (2" base) in his back arc. Circa 10" Jugger move.
Karchev has his back facing the enemy, but DEF12 is about as bobbins as DEF10 anyway.
Was considering 5 Berserkers over 4 Juggers (Only 2 more points in total), but the ARM18 and fewer boxes makes them very frail indeed. And I want my boys to get in. I think that most Cygnar armies will have trouble destroying a Jugger in one turn with shooting only, whereupon the damaged one can scoot back for repairs whilst its mates carry on the fight.
Plus gets more use out of tow spell as he can only tow 3 jacks per turn.
EEiryss there to strip arcane shield.
18 Battle Machnics to repair the 5 big guys as well as block charge lanes for any enemy anti warjack stuff incoming.
So, you guys see any issues with this list? I think that it has a good combination of speed and durability. I also like the fact that in an emergency turn Karchev can camp to 25 ARM.

Conqueror
I'd say make sure your playing scenarios. Roll on the steamroller 2012 ones. There's a lot of variety there and also make sure your setting up decent terrain. When cygnar and ret actually have to take and hold things and can't just fallback and shoot every turn, they become much more manageable.

Destroyer of Worlds
I'd try to get a Devastator or Demolisher in there. Ret shooting lists with MHSF are filled with low arm, high DEF infantry, which a list filled with Juggernauts don't deal with well.

Hiya guys,
I've had experience with a similar list:
Morty + Deryliss
5 Slayers
1 Reaper
2 Bloat Thralls
2 Warwitch Sirens
I've done quite well with it, but is weak vs. gunlines and is very pillow fisted (Max POW16 with list above). I'm hoping that this Karchev list is better as I have 5 super heavy hitters with 20+ ARM that can put out 10 crushingly hard attacks per turn, whilst also having 18 infantry to run interference for me.
I lack the 2 5" AOEs of the Morty list, but the Bloats were always quite easy to see off anyway.
Morty was also always quite squishy as she gave out lots of FOC. Karchev has the option to tank up to ARM25 on a critical turn.
Krazy Ivan. Trouble is that in scenarios there's no way to win it apart from killing the damn collossus, that cannot be moved, slammed, etc...
And Cygnar can kill infantry faster than they can kill an ARM19(22) monstrosity.
Hance trying a hard list, on the basis that a shooting list cannot put out a huge amount of damage before the jacks hit home.
Esper. I'm tooling to take on Cygnar, who to be fair can get lots of high damaging infantry via mercs. I was kind of hoping that I could run interference with the Engineers whilst my 5 models slowly chew through 5-10 infantry per turn. With unearthly rage up should be killing about 8 DEF15 models per turn. List should be able to take two turns of shooting, hopefully, helped by plenty of engineers to make ad hoc repairs.
A tactic I was considering was to simply kill off the enemy's hard hitters and then have Karchev plough through sitting on ARM25 and try to grind out an attrition win.
I'd take Demolisher over Devastator as its guns are more flexible, plus it offers girded and its AOE isn't stopped by feats stopping power attacks and doesn't require FOC to use.
Was thinking of trying 3 ARM25 clam jacks, but whilst great on the way in I don't have an Old Witch or Irusk feat/ spell list to limit retaliation against my now ARM17 jacks.
At the end of the day I'll need to play it out and see how it performs. Whatever else, it'll be nice to see a warmachine army with more than 1 warjack in it.
After all, I've got 5 Slayers to proxy up for a few test games, and the Reaper can be karchev.

Hi guys,
Got some more feedback and thought more about the list.
Karchev
Sylyss Wyshnalyrr
Juggernaut
Juggernaut
Juggernaut
Kodiak
4 Battle Mechanics
4 Battle Mechanics
EEiryss
Gorman
Kodiak instead of 4th Jugger as it can run for free, and has pathfinder, so can keep up better with Karchev's towed posse. Can also Vent steam to act as some anti infantry and to give Karcjev third cloud if needed.
Sylyss there so that Karchev can camp another FOC or allocate another attack, etc, whilst Tow is ongoing.
Gorman is there to lay down a cloud or, maybe, black oil the Collossal.
EEiryss can Eeriyss bomb the Collosal. They may be immune to disruption, but technological interference should work just fine on it. Collossal without FOC isn't much threat.
Far fewer engineers, but I can tweak to find the right number. Should still be useful for objective grabbing if nothing else. Also saves me painting too many of the 3 pose metal models.
Seems good?

Destroyer of Worlds
Just going to point out, Karchev can work against Cygnar, but Retribution cares a good bit less with their primary ranged unit being Arcane Assassin, Phantom Seeker, Jack Hunters.

Yeah. Good point.
Think this was a holdover when I was considering Strakhov as my anti Cygnar + Retribution caster (Mass stealth + super speed) but abandoned that idea when I realised that he was a one hit wonder. Karchev seems a bit chunkier at least.
Hmmm, Butcher can probably take the Retribution anyway, especially as the Hyperion doesn't seem anywhere near as bent as the Stormwall.
Seems sad to tool up vs. just one faction, but the list shoudl give problems to some other factions as well, hopefully. (Anything not chock full of weaponmasters...)
