Combatant
My pThags list
Ok so this is my first post (yeah!!!)
Ok so Im just starting Hordes and have an idea for a pThags list. I was just wondering if it's a good idea for a list not really worried about the points but I assume it's between 35 and 50 and will need tweaking to get to one of those numbers.
List
pThags
Carnivean
Typhon
Shredders
2 Full Units of Warspears
Is this competitive? These are the models that I was really drawn to.
Thanks

Your list is 36 points. I don't know if that's the format that you are playing, just tought I'd mention it.
Your list is missing a forsaken IMHO. It helps with fury and when the warspears get jammed by opponent's infantry.
I'd say that the shredder is a little redundant since you already have the carnivean.
Also, unless you see the Typhon as a necessity, you could swap him for some other beast (ravagore or scythean are viable options here) and aim for the tier list:
Thagrosh, Prophet of Everblight (Tier 2)
*Raek
*Carnivean
*Ravagore
Blighted Ogrun Warspears (Leader and 4 Grunts)
Blighted Ogrun Warspears (Leader and 2 Grunts)
The Forsaken
Warmonger War Chief
I play the same list for 35 points (just use min warmongers as the second unit instead of warspears) and I'd say that it's pretty good.

Awesome man!
Welcome to the fold!
Your on the right path when it comes to pThag (i.e. he loves his ogrun's), but let me help you take this up to the next level.
pThag
^Ravagore (3x)
^Shredder
Warmongers (2x5)
^War Chief (2x)
Forsaken (2x)
Overall Idea:
This list is very strong and themish because it allows you to take an objective with ease while also beating down your opponent from afar. Which, will force them into your meat grinder if he wishes to take the objective or interrupt your long range fire power.
Formation:
..WM.....WM.. (You can get them all online or create a wedge formation with both squads)
..WC..T..WC.. (Place each WC behind the center of each WM squad and place Thag in the center with support models)
....R...R...R.... (Same as above)
Theory Play:
Turn One: Run + Cast FoW
Turn Two: Upkeep Fog + Ravagores Shoot (Boost ATK & DMG) + Cast Draconic Blessing on WM Squad if need be
Turn Three: Engage Objective and Camp + Game
Hope this helped.

Pthags is a very versatile warlock. There really are so many options with him. I like to think of my army from a cost vs use perspective. Hardly any other caster besides rearguard tier ryhas really wants 2 units of ogrun. I think your list can perform well. It will depend on your match ups. I would recommend more ranged in the list, specifically longer ranged. I love my warspears with Pthag but I only run 1 unit. Back when I ran Pthags alot I liked to have a unit of min swordsman+UA behind the spears to provide the counter punch to my jamming spears. Also for 2 pts its hard to not take a Deathstalker for what they can provide. Also for Pthags attrition style, I love the spawning vessel. Also its very hard to go wrong with the classic Carnivean, Ravagore, Scythean trifecta. All in all, Thag is a versatile caster and as you play him more you will find more fun ways to build lists with him. I personally would steer clear of the second set of warspears.

I think you cannot FoW and Run. Maybe u can FoW and declare fail charge.
I recommend the carnivean, ravagore and scythean as base beastie set, then add infantry or lesser to taste. I nv really ran fury management wif him, as 7 fury is quite alot. And my Ravagore nv loads up to more than 3 fury per rd.
