Default Can I Build Torch or Black Ivan with the starter kit jacks?

I am returning to Warmachine after a 2 year hiatus and have ordered the starter kit to get the plastic Man of War shocktroopers and the mini rulebook. Since I already have a Juggernaut and a Destroyer, can I purchase the Torch and Black Ivan kits and build them with parts from the starter box?
    Thanks in Advance!

You can build Black Ivan using the starter kit (as he's based on a Destroyer), but not Torch (as he's based on a Decimator, and you won't have the needed ripsaw).

it might be notable to say that, rather than spending the money on the multi kit, since you already have the spare jack you might just order the ripsaw arm from PP's Store and save about... 30 bucks, roughly? or you could buy it and make two different jacks with it. Your choice.

The parts store doesn't stock plastics, so you can't get the RipSaw form them. But you could try other local gamers, or Bartertown or something (there's an Ebay store or two that sells parts IIRC).

I just bought Black Ivan to put on my Destro. I cannot remove the axe to place the claw without breaking his arm (the resin is not the strongest). I'd recommend getting a new arm bit if you can.

You could always check ebay for a ripsaw arm.

Built Torch and Black Ivan using the Jacks from Grind. Still need a Ripsaw.

I picked up the Black Ivan kit and made him from the Destroyer jack and then just added another Jug. I really like the plastic Man of War troopers and can't wait to get them on the table. The starter kit is a really good deal, I am selling the Menoth stuff for 50 bucks so I paid 50$ for 2 warjacks and a unit of shocktroopers plus a compact rulebook.

I'm not sure which Jack you got, but the Hand for Black Ivan Totally replaces the axe-fist of the Destroyer at the wrist joint of the plastic model (the one supplied in the 2 player set). Just re-cut off that part (or don't put it on if you can help it).

You should build Black Ivan as soon as you can.

A little late to not put it on, and I know that the claw replaces it, but when using decent glue (such as ABSG) it's nigh impossible to 'pull off' without superglue remover without breaking the flimsy bit of arm between the wrist and upper arm.

I converted my two starter box Jacks to Ivan and Torch myself and it worked out fine. You will have to find a ripsaw somewhere though, found mine on ebay (though they do not show up there often). Best to ask some folks at your local gaming store perhaps if they have one laying around.

The conversions were a bit of a pain with prying/cutting off the necessary bits (if you put them together previously) but it beats buying two new jack kits IMO.

I'd say just make the Destroyer into Black Ivan and don't bother with Torch.
