    Default WarmaHordes and vacation

    'sup guys,

I got a pretty simple question, do you guys think about WarmaHordes while you're on vacation?

In a month or so I'll spend 2 weeks in Egypt, and I'm going to bring Prima and Forces of Menoth with me to read on the beach and in the plane, it really is a shame I can't bring my mini's along!

If you are going somewhere that has game stores, sure - bring the minis!!

Otherwise, the reading material is fine.

My folks practically shake me down to make sure I don't have rule-books for some game or another on family trips.

For warmahordes I can bring a card deck, much easier to hide

On the plus side you'll be able to memorize the Core Rules and Protectorate stats!

I took a vacation to Seattle at the beginning of the year because my wife and I have friends there and she was helping out with a convention. After that we drove down to Portland and back up the coast of oregon. It was a fun trip.

But during the first part I had looked up and found a local tournament going on in Seattle so I packed some models on the vacation and went to the tournament while my wife was doing convention stuff. It was a lot of fun. (and I came in third! )

The last vacation I was on was Diecon, so yes i did think about warmahordes during that. Other vacations, I probably would at the very least think about it, and maybe bring a book or two.

It depends entirely on the trip. Last year I went to Belize and there is a picture of me sitting on the deck of the cabana in my Retribution shirt while I am thinking through army lists on IBodger.

Just be aware of the company you are around. Reading the rule book for the ultra religious and militant army might get you in a bad situation in the wrong part of a predominantly Muslim country.

This x100. Egypt is undergoing massive cultural/political shifts right now so even if you are safe from gov't forces, a group of locals, gripped by an extremist zeitgeist, could misinterpret your innocent game books.

Honestly, you couldn't pay me to go to Egypt right now, but I hope, for your sake, that I am just a victim of American media biases and that you have a safe and wonderful vacation.

Note to Mods: Tried my absolute best to minimize any political commentary in this post while still communicating what I feel to be a valid note of caution. If this is beyond the TOS, please feel free to remove the post with my blessing.

You guys actually made me laugh. Not trying to be mean but I didn't think about this and I imagend myself being chased by men with pitchforks because I play with toy soldiers!

Anyways, I'll be staying in a resort which is tourist only, ofcourse i'll visit a few cities like Cairo but I won't bring my book a long since these (small) trips are only a day long.

I personally think you're missing out by not going to Egypt, my mom and sister went a month ago and absolutley loved it, but this could also be thanks to the tourist resort they stayed in. If something happens to me however, I'll keep you guys posted

I don't know what the mods think, but in my humble opinion you're pretty on-topic because it involves WarMachine on my vacation.

Also, i'm sorry if I sounded a tad sarcastic. I didn't really think about and it just made me laugh, but I'll keep the advice in mind. Maybe I should just bring my Trollbloods book a long ...
