    Default Need help against eKreoss

Hello everyone, new player and first time posting here. Glad to part of the Legion.

Anyways, last night myself and a couple buddies played a 35pt, 3-way FFA and it went pretty well for me, for the most part. Buddy#1 played Menoth and buddy#2 played Khador. I had no problems dealing with Khador, in fact, I got caster kill on Khador.

I was just wondering if anybody had any lists for dealing with eKreoss @ 35pts, or any tips?

    His list was something like:
    - eKreoss
    - Redeemer
    - Exemplar Sarvan Gravus
    - Exemplar Vengers (max)
    - Knights Exemplar
    - Knight Exemplar Seneschal
    - Exemplars Errant w/UA

    I was running:
    eVayl
    Angelius
    Ravagore
    Nephlim Soldier
    Shredders x3
    Blighted Nyss Striders w/ UA
    Shepherd x2

eKreoss is a melee beast, you just can't beat him at his own game. Anything that shuts down melee or movement can hurt him. Of the top of my head, Searyn is the only caster in Legion that would really scare me if I were playing him. Her feat is a kick to the pants for him. Use lots of shooting, scather is your friend.

Saeryn will put the hurt on eKreoss.

But Evayl can do it as well:

Find a way to fit in a 2nd Ravagore.

I suggest loosing the Nephlim Soldier, 2 shredders, dropping the strider's for legionaries and a min pot.

    eVayl
    Angelius
    Ravagore
    Ravagore
    Shredders x1
    Legionaries x 10
    Min Spawning Pot
    Shepherd x2

This does leave you with out a melee beater but with Icy Grip your Ravagroes can Melee if needed or you can switch out the angel for a scythean.

    Tactics -

Use Refuge to keep your ranged fire power safe and Shoot the crap out of the Vengers with your Ravagores as they are his long range threat.

Use your own Legionaries to fill the pot ( have them kill each other ) and / or stagger them and screen your forces.

Watch for eKreoss to go focus light - Pop a harrier out of the pot True strike charge kill a target sprint, or just run it to position hit with oraculus Feat with eVayl Icy Grip eKreoss ( or icy grip him earlier if possible) eKreoss is Def 14 (12 with IG)you can land 2 fully boosted oblits on him or 3 non boosted oblits
I woulda win next turn... I know you woulda win next turn... you always woulda win NEXT turn...

eKreoss really personifies one of the most difficult match-ups for Legion -- Infantry Spam. The fact is that our Warbeasts are really excellent at concentration of firepower. But rampant infantry spam, particularly the weapon-master variety, will overwhelm and chew through out Warbeasts.

And that's even discounting the feat that Kreoss brings to the table.

Saeryn is a good answer, given her ability to slow down models/units, and provide a turn of melee immunity. Also, Kreoss is vulnerable to ranged attacks given his DEF: 14 -- You can capitalize on that. Add in a Cont. Fire effect to hit him (Hint: Ravagore) during focus replenishing.

I'd also suggest eLylyth as an option. She brings volume of fire to the table, which will allow you to pick apart the volume of targets, and is no slouch herself -- She should be able to drop 6 single-wound infantry models on her own between her feat's extra shot, and snap-fire. At +4 RNG, she's capable of getting two concentrated turns of fire on Kreoss' army, which should help mitigate the damage of his eventual melee slaughter.

Alternately, Vayl is worth considering, as her feat repositioning will let you stay out of charge range. And Eruption of Spines from Bethayne can be used to good effect.

    Warbeast: Animus
    Archangel: Nonimus

Hes immune to continuous effects so no cont fire. He also gives this to all exemplars. You can still damage him with fire attacks you just cant set him on fire.

I wouldn't be counting on Cont. Fire as his opponent only has one model (the reedeemer) that isn't immune to continuous effects.

In regards to elylyth, you might not want to be up front shooting with her. She probably cant one-shot the vengers or gravus (and if she does kill one or two she only makes the rest of them and gravus that much scarier) and the errants can avoid snap fire/swift hunter with self-sacrafice leaving her standing 12" or less from a bunch of mat 7 (or even autohitting) weaponmaster troops.

proteous and scythean are both heavys that do quite well helping deal with infantry. replace the angel with an scythean and see if that helps. if you can find a way to get big P in there that also is a good plan.

eVayl tier all the way It does not matter if the infantry hit like bricks if they threat 9" just stay away. So kill Vengers with shooting and then play with the infantry all day long.

And remember that self sacrificing is only within 3 so you should be able to force situations where you get your snap fires from eLylyth or death stalkers. (not that you will use either if you read the first part of the message )

Any list with 2 Ravagores can do it. Those scather templates really shut down his movement options.
