"Traitor" Tournament at Pandemonium in Garden City, MI on August 11th

Yo Everyone!! I'm hosting a Traitor Tournament for warmachine and hordes players. So come out, and use the caster/lock you wish you really did have for your faction for a day to cause havoc and wild crazy combos (hopefully all in good fun). The traitor that you select, however, must be in the same game system. So no swapping warlocks for warcasters and such, that comes on a later date. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, but there will be other grab bag prizes for other criteria such as the most interesting traitor and the unexpected traitor (the one traitor who just doesn't fit for the army he's with). So come out and throw with the crew on August 11th and we hope to have a great turnout!

I actually don't know anything about Magnus other than he doesn't get along with Cygnar which he used to be part of. >_>

I'd love to drop Butcher or Vlad into a Cygnar army. Heck, any of the non-Cygnar Prime casters would be a hoot!

What are the requirements for the tourney? Points? Reinforcements? Scenario? Timed turns? You know, the standard stuff...

If you take a War(caster/lock) with War(beast/jacks) will their feat/spells affect the models they are now supporting as appropriate? Thus a Warcaster spells will have their instances of Warjack replaced with Warbeast and vice versa? Will the War(caster/lock) function as their counterparts as well, swapping focus for fury and fury for focus and all other appropriate rules for their effective new caster fuctionality? What about caster attachments as well. When you come up with interesting alternative game concepts you really need to spell out the rules that will be in effect before hand. Thanks

Now Dr. Arkadius being able to heal/repair Warjacks in battle group and his control area every turn sounds sorta fun, but how would his feat interact with Warjacks? Esp a Stormwall or Conquest...

Well he might have "said" that, but it is not in this post thread, I am just asking for clarifications and details to be posted here. I would really like to try this out as it sounds like there should be some really zanny combos, but want things spelled out clearly B4 hand.

I apologize GRYM, I've been kinda talking about this with everyone from our LGS that I forgot to post everything. It's as Spinball stated, swapping within the same game system is my intention. However, I will be running a tournament with the idea of people swapping warlocks for warcasters and vice-versa (changing the focus/fury mechanic as you thought in your initial post) at a later date. I apologize for the confusion.

I was recently asked questions based on the rule for mercs and how they would work for traitor.

1. Is there any restriction for warcasters in which Mercenary contract they can be under? For example, can any non-Rhulic warcaster be part of a Searforge Commission contract?
There are no restrictions, besides swapping warcasters for warcasters

2. Similar to question #1, are there any restrictions for warlocks in which Minion pact they can be under?
Same as above

3. If a Rhulic warcaster is part of a army without Rhulic warjacks, then is the Rhulic Warcaster special rule ignored?
Yes

4. Conversly to question #3, if a non-Rhulic warcaster is part of a Searforge Commission Mercenary contract, then is the Rhulic Warjack special rule ignored?
Yes

5. Similar to question #3, if a Farrow Warlock or Gatorman Warlock included in a non-Minion army, are the Farrow Warlock and Gatorman Warlock (respectively) special rules ignored?
Yes

6. Does the warcaster/warlock become part of the faction to which their army is composed? I assume this is the case, but I want to make sure.
Yes

7. Does the Mercenary rule for the Commodore Cannon & Crew remain unchanged? For example, Captain Phinneus Shae is taken in a Khador list; can that list then take the Commodore Cannon & Crew?

Someone brought up the question of Lord Carver's feat so I thought I would post it for them. Since it is based around Farrow models and is not faction based would his feat remained unchanged or if changed how would it function for the tourny? I said it would probably just change to faction based but maybe it was answered and my gym teacher like reading missed it.
