    Default Optimum Spawning Vessel Movement

I've been tooling around with Legion lately and I was introduced to the idea of killing your own spawning vessel crew on turn one to make a shredder.

However, attacking 6 times with a 41.66% chance of hitting seems like poor odds. I decided to figure out a deployment so that 5 guys could get back strikes on other members of the crew. This gives you a more likely chance of killing three of them after the movement so that you can immediately spawn a shredder.

    Maths:
    6*0.4166*0.9722 ~ 2.4
    5*0.7222*0.9722 ~ 3.5

This was one of the formations I found that has all 6 start within 2" of the pot and that they all see the next grunt.

It's important to have the outer grunts turned slightly so that they can't see their neighbour. Begin with pot and move it 6" slightly to the right and forward. Then begin with the left-hand of the front nyss and move him an inch and a bit forward before turning so that he doesn't look at the other grunts, then move him up, turning him to face away from the pot again. Next move his neighbour forward facing forward. Continue this pattern of movement until the whole unit is moved and you should be in a formation very similar to your original positioning. Then begin attacking the grunts with the nyss that moved after it. There is a very high likelyhood that you will kill three of them, once you've done this take the pots action and spawn a shredder.

So is it a good idea to do this early getting most of its value back but slowing down the pot and lessening it's area of effect? Or should this kind of self-killing only be done to top the pot off later in the game?

Sometimes you have to roll the hard 666!

I've thought about killing them all one turn one.

Something like this I would save off until late-game, keeping swordsmen or Legionnaires in front of them to be fodder. Not to mention with their CMA, it might be the enemy that becomes the Pot food, which is doubly good for you. A good idea, but something I would hold off as a "oh ****, I need another Shredder/harrier/stinger right now" tactic.

Don't kill your own acolthes unless you need a lesser that turn. The vessel is better when stretched over 3-4 turns, since it gives you the lessers -when- and -where- you need them. Generally I'll only kill them off myself if i'm out of options, or if I'm a corpse short for some reason.

    optimal pot movement....
    move pot next to C-rex.
Carnisaur picks up pot and gently nudges it towards enemy casters domepeice.
pot then moves back into the carrying case... because you just won.

    that's how my pot moves.
