    Default Plastic Exemplar question

    Greetings fellow Menites,

I'm considering unloading my pewter Knights and Errants onto someone who hates plastic, and getting the new sculpt plastic versions. Can anyone who has handled both shed some light on whether the ever-vexing shoulderpad problem has been fixed on the plastics?

    Thanks,

I found like one Errant arm where there wasn't a good nub to glue the pad to, but plastic to plastic is easy to fix.

So you didn't have trouble getting the pads to sit on the right spot on the shoulder without getting in the way of the guy's head or shield? I got to the point with my errants that I wanted to just dump them all in solvent and start over, but I didn't have that kind of time, so now half their shoulders just look...off.

I had to rotate some of them to keep them off of the head, but nothing like the nightmare of trying to attach the metal ones. And I think some of the issue might have just been the angle I decided to pose the arms in.

If only PP didn't have some religious objection to instructions.

Can any of you recommend a construction sequence? Am I better off gluing the pads to the arms before I attach the arms to the torsos? Are there any "For the love of Menoth don't!" things to avoid? As in any arms that will never work with a particular torso pose?

And how the devil do you attach the crossbows?

Are you talking metals or plastics? I think I just decided that I want to keep my metal ones, simply because if I got the plastics and made one error with the glue, I'd be tanked.

Shoulder pads last always with the knights. Nothing worse than putting on your armor on and then realizing your shoulder pad is stabbing you in the eye.

I just built a unit of plastic knights the other day and had no issues with the shoulder pads. The only issue I had was with the arms that ended up to wide to sit on the torso, but I discovered that just squeezing them onto the torso and gluing worked like a charm. Overall they were much easier than the metal knights or exemplars, plus the swords actually look swordish instead of just blunt clubs.
