Default looking for additonal shade for khador red mix (skorne red?)

I base my red in reaper pro series rusty red, was with old citadel baal red, highlight with khador ted base, control wash crevases red again and red ink glaze. I like the way it comes out dark red for shadows and bright red on highlights but the transitions off a bit. I refuse to use khador highlight. I was looking at skorne red and wanted to know the difference between khadors and skornes red. Skornes looks more rusty?

The difference between Khador Red Base and Skorne Red is minimal. When two brush blended, they're nearly identical.

I highly suggest Sanguine base. It's a little on the purple side of red, but it gives you fantastic shades, and can be further deepened with Umbral Umber.

    Red is tough to blend.

It took a lot of experimentation, but I eventually got to this formula:

    1. Mix 3 parts Khador base, 1 part Khador highlight and THINLY coat the surface you want to paint.
    2. Mix in a gradual amount of highlight to the base mix and highlight up to the peaks slowly. More highlight to the mix as you go. At the peak, after previous steps are dry, I usually brush the surface with a thin amount of water then touch the zieneth with pure (thin) Khador highlight, and letting it bleed into the present water.
    3. Hit the shadows with pure Khador base (thinned down of course, getting the pattern? Lol), then glaze the shadows with a very thin and watery green. (I use snot green from gw for this)
    4. Lightly glaze the entire surface in a thin but bright red. (I use blood red from GW, but skorne red would work)

Here is how it turned out for me. This took a year of painting to get right for me. (just the pauldrons)
