Suggestions For Flag?

doing my Bane Thralls. i JUST have the flag bearer of the UA to do. hes shaded but not highlighted.



im thinking of trying to put either the runes strength and stealth, or try to put asphyxious's symbol on there, the bigger white one that looks like a staff. it might be easier to do the runes, as his symbol is kind of complex. i might have to go get a brush small enough for that detail. i was thinking if i did the symbol it would be white, but if i did the runes, id try and ink them green like the runes on their heads.

suggestions?

I think a nice big symbol, dead center. Rough it out with white, a few thin layers so mistakes are easy to fix, and then give it a light wash with green to make it glow.

idea! could i draw it on with a mechanical pencil? to help trace it out first. to help get size? youd be able to see the graphite if you hold the surface at an angle. mechanical pencils hold their tip so it would be crisp.

I find this pen (the 0.05mm one) an invaluable tool for minatures painting purposes.

Whether it is painting pupils, cleaning up freehand or blacklining jack boilers, it delivers.

Mechanical pencils are great for sketching, it will work.

You could definitely sketch it on with a pencil. You can also practice on some spare paper to get your shape and size down.

I highly suggest breaking the design down into small simple shapes, so when you go to free hand the design, you aren't trying to paint it all at once.

this is just to get the size, i got the picture from the cryx theme book. i just need to find some transfer paper.

does it work? suggestions?

If you can make a transfer out of it, then go for it, it should work in that case. If the symbol is black you might want a bright green on the flag just to make it show better.

i plan to print it white when i do, this was just to get the size in photoshop.

is there thin transfer paper like the other decals i see that come with models at like, office max or something?

I'm not very learned on that subject. I'd recommend you google it, perhaps. I think that transfer paper is available in hobby shops, but I am not 100% sure.

why do a transfer? free hand it. It is a very simple design, and you can cheat. Get a .005 ink pen in whatever color you want to use, silver, red, white, whatever. Would look much more impressive because people will be able to tell that you did it, and will wonder how.

just went to the craft store. zero pens are white. if they are, theyre larger. a bunch of black fine tip.

EDIT: sorry if that reads as upset. im not, i just suck at writing on the internet.

i picked up two paint pens, both .7 tips. one is sharpie and the other pen-touch. still pretty thick.
