Ok I've a rough idea of the general colours I'd like to use, but I've no specific ideal how to achieve them upon the model. I do have some paints which can probably take me so far, but I'm not limiting myself to them, so if you've suggestions for paints please make them:
Rough concept of Warbeasts:
White bodies as opposed to the traditional grey/blue effect. A more pure/frosty white.
Wings; at the moment sticking with the white of the body, maybe a more grey white than a strong white of the main body (I'm not fully given to making them into the watery blood red style of membrane)
Black armour plating with a white/grey highlight kind of effect (similar to what http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gal...warbeasts/raek shows here in effect.
A firery orange gill effect (something I can adapt to also be the Ravagore fire, though a more orangy than red flame)
Pinky/fleshy red for mouth and some edging around some armour plates (I'm not a full fame of the pinky skin effect around all the bone sections, but I can see its worth around some select ones on certain models).
possible - a very tiny part of me would welcome doing something along the likes of random black spots with orange edges (ie leopard like spots over areas of the body). However I'm unsure how to go about creating such an effect.
Paints/colours I have current access to:
Vallejo; Copper, London Grey, Sky grey, White grey, bright bronze, brassy brass, chainmail silver, tinny tin, verdigris
P3; brown ink, rhulic gold, ironhull grey, molten bronze
GW;
base/colour: tin bitz, warplock bronze, gold griffon, boltgun metal, mechanicus standard grey, graveyard earth, mournfang brown, steel legion drab, chaos black, mithril silver
Layer: runelord brass, ushabi bone, doombull brown, brass scorpion, wazdakka red, dawnstone, tallarn sand, balor brown
Wash/ink/glaze: bloodletter, casandora yellow, badab black, gryphonne sepia, nuln oil, agrax earthshade,
From doing some reading around it would seem that the best undercoat to go with for the models would be either a grey or a black, thus I'll make use of the GW black undercoat spraypaint which I've access to (unless others can give a compelling argument against this?).
From there its a bit more iffy for me, I've just not the experience to know well what colour combos would work, not the spare models to experiment upon (nor the diversity of colours to know/experiment with better combos).
So if anyone can give me some suggestions I would be most welcome - also feel free to comment on the proposed paint scheme if you feel that there are parts missing or which might conflict with each other
