    Default Batrep Colossal Challenge

Going up against a Cygnar player for a battle report (Dan @ MWG) featuring the Stormwall versus the Mountain King. And we're aiming for a low(ish) model count.

Could change any second, and drastically, but here's where I'm at now.

Captain Gunbjorn (because he's cool and I want to stick it back to Cygnar)
    -Mountain King (20)
    -Rok (11)
    -Earthborn (10)
    -Mauler (9)
    -Runebearer (2)
    KSB+UA (4)
Long Riders (max) + Horthol (16)
    Janissa Stonetide
    Whelps
    Totem Hunter

Like it? Or persuade me otherwise please!

I've been thinking a lot about the mountain king and have really enjoyed reading what you guys are doing with it. I've only had the chance to play a couple of games with him myself, but that little experience along with a lot of theory machining (so take it with a grain of salt has left me firmly in the, "must have screening troops" camp.
I'm guessing the Mauler is there for the animus, so why not replace him with a pyre, drop the totem hunter since horthol can perform that function to a degree, bump up the stone to full and add a minimum unit of kriel warriors with the UA? I think that math works and the min unit should do the screening trick fairly well-with a few tough rolls. Anyway, hope that helps a bit and I hope you get the chance to post the outcome. Cheers,
    -Sheetz

    Celedor, Celedor, Celedor!

If you're going with that many delicious heavies, you absolutely need to go with edoomy and trollses! Cycling wild aggression around your boys is NO JOKE! You also should have an Axer in there. I agree with Sheetz that you should have some tarpit troops and who better than good 'ol +4 tough Boomhowler.

Since edoomy does NOTHING for the tuffaloes, Drop the 6 riders and add in the Axer & Boomies!

Ask not what your lock can do for your Long Riders, but what your Long Riders can do for your lock. I know I'll be facing a lot of heavies with wee support mechanics and I'd love to slam those heavies through their own support and mess with his positioning. Boomhowler, or any other single wounders I'm using to tarpit, are going to get chewed up by Stormwalls covering fire. I think the Long Riders will perform admirably and with the most self-sufficiency in the tie up/deny positioning role.

I know eDoomy is the premier choice for running a bunch of big heavies, and he was my first choice. But after some deliberation, I also feel like he's the predictable choice, and that's enough to make him less appealing to me. But terrain could be an issue, so the Axer is probably something I should find room for, and maybe the Fell Caller for Long Riders.

Thanks for giving me more to mull over. And while I appreciate your enthusiasm, I can assure you that your profile has a large enough footprint that I auto-include emphasis to what you say without the need for bold or CAPS.

Edit: I should have been more clear earlier. The Mountain King and Gunny are the two non-negotiable models in the list.

Its a decent list, but you do need some screening against many other matchups. A gun line will shoot up the MK regardless. But a chronicler would work great with his abilities for your troops. I tend to run min. Calvary+horthol. Not sure why totem hunter is there, but I run gurden myself for a mimion solo. I think warriors would fit well as your screen, plus their cheaper then fenns. Let us know how it goes

Mountain King will be Arm 23 against any shooting. What gun line is going to shoot through that? Boosted Defenders won't do anything the whelps cant fix.

I would play the hell out of this list, looks like a blast.

Well that sounds good. Didnt know the stats tbh. I would assume that armor piercing still applies to colassal sizes right? Im sure the wording will be errated to include that size. But only so many models have that ability anyways.
