    Default Battle box and pKaya

So I got the battle box for Circle the other day and first impressions are, wow Warp-wolves are awesome. Charges and teleport back with Kaya is silly, having said that, is she a caster worth investing points in? I see a lot of eKaya lists and not many pKaya on the list board, is this because she is a weak caster? I feel like she doesn't have a large amount of buffing and really she just shines as a fury management caster, with her feat and Soothing. I really like the teleport spell that she has but having chosen Circle as my Hordes faction I am left wondering if another caster with a bit more versatility will be more fun/better fit for some one coming from Menoth.

I really like pBaldur but don't want to invest in models that really are only synergistic with his lists, I am on a tight budget at the moment and figured building up some beasts and an infantry unit or two will be the way to go. I have a tendancy to pick the weaker caster/lock in the faction and try and make them good, but everyone at my FLGS said that she is Circles weakest caster. I would just like some input from the seasoned veterans.

There's a very good write-up on our Battle Box somewhere as part of a Journeyman League tactica. I wrote a guide to starting Circle without wasting money. I THINK both of these are listed and linked to in the Wilding Way, which is stickied at the top of our forums. I would check those out if you haven't already.

As for your specific questions. Kaya1 is often considered our weakest caster, but not a terrible one in the grand scheme of the game. Most people will claim she is great at low point games (25 or less), alright at middle point games (35 or so) and weak at larger levels (50 and above). This is mainly due to how effective her Spirit Door trick works (as you've apparently found) at lower point games. Others will also claim that her tier list is pretty decent at 35 points, and alright at 50. I've played her at 50 and enjoyed it (and have a pretty decent record with her at higher point games), but that's just my personal preference.

If you're really wanting to keep tight on money, I would suggest picking up Kaya2 or Kromac as they tend to use the most similar models to Kaya1, and don't spend money trying to make Kaya1 great beyond low level games.

Awesome advise, I will be picking up eKaya. Read up on her and she seems like a lot of fun to play, in Menoth I play heavy infantry, and would like to play an army with heavy beasts for hordes at the moment.

Another point, on Baldur1 this time. While he's the only caster who I would use an all-wold battlegroup with (if you use his tier, which I do), all of our heavy wolds (and, in my opinion, the Woldwyrd as well, and, others would argue, even the Woldwatcher) have places in certain other lists. So I wouldn't be worried about buying things you would never use with someone else.

You are on track with E-Kaya, and as kaneblaise said, P-Kaya is Great at 25 point or less games. Keep eating faces with P-Kaya (+2 Mele attacks, YEA) and when you are ready for 35 and 50 (model wise) break out the E. Forced Evo will knock your socks off. P+S 20 Stalker, that does not frenzy next turn??? you will forget you are playing circle! and its stealthy.

A Warpwolf Stalker is my recommendation for a next model, and I am sure that many will agree with me. (or the plastic wolf kit and magnetize for a stalker and perhaps the Ghetorix upgrade kit)

When you want to try out the wolds in the future I would get Megalith. He fits several lists (not just Bauldur's)
Don't blame bad dice rolls for your losses. It was your lack of planning that made you roll trip-ones.
