Hey guys, haven't seen many painted Conquests yet. Here's a link to mine. I used the weathering technique from the books.
Here's the base
Here's the poor little Stormblade in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Totally awesome! Great work.
Love the base too
Who's the more foolish: the fool, or the fool who follows him?
Legionand Menoth
.
Man that looks good, great job!
Oh one thing, are the plates on his face golden in color or is that just the light reflecting ?
Looks awesome!
I'm curious about how posable the arms are. I've only seen it in this sort of 'about to punch/stepping forward' pose. During assembly, did it seem like it'd be easy enough to put it in more of a static pose with the arms by it's side?
Great work. I've got mine built, but haven't figured out what I want to do with the base. I may steal bits of yours.
The arms are relatively posable. If I remember, the shoulders are a pin joint, so you have 360 swivel on one axis, but the elbow, or wrist is a ball joint.
The reason why you see the 'step forward and smash face' so often is not because of the arms, but because of the legs. The leg molds are made specifically to fit into the stepping forward pose. It would take a fair amount of cutting, reposing, and putty to change that.
the arms are fairly posable. You might have to cut it and pin it to get some crazy arm positions. screamindaemon is right though, the big problem is the legs are fairly unposable. You'd have to do some serious modding to change the legs.
There are bronze plates on the face, its not just the light.
For those interested in the base I used this as a guide. His stuff is great.

"Looks at the Stormblade".... He was a good man!
I really dig this. Great job! I can't wait to get a hold of one of these guys now.
A small suggestion of something I always like doing: gloss varnish on the bloodied areas. I feel like it helps with the wet, visceral look.
Poor stormblade.![]()
Great conquest komrade. I really like the base and the color scheme. The arrows stuck in his arms are a little unbelievable though.
"Playing Farrow is like a big Hail Mary from turn1." (quote from Pattison)
Okay. This is awesome! I love the color scheme, and your weather is absolutely perfect! Excellent work!
Awesome! I was wondering how come I didn't see any painted Conquests up either. I love that it's a alternate scheme too!
Waiting on my airbrush time.
Thanks guys. I'll try the varnish on the blood, and see what it looks like. It sounds like a good idea.
As for the arrows I got parasited and ate some damage from the Nyss at range so I felt it would be fun to put them on. In this game arrows can put a little damage on a Conquest.
Sa-weet! It looks suitably Khadoran. Also love the little touches like the arrows.
My only recommendation would be rotating the stormblade guy around so that he's drooping. So like this: ( where he's currently like this: )
Yeah, really digging it!
