    Default keep me going!

So today I am trying to get a big chunk of the work done on my fennblades. I'm about halfway through the base coat on all the models, just going layer by layer in an assembly line. This is the first unit I have ever painted and the 6-18 models I have ever painted. I will be checking in today with my progress and would appreciate any encouragement.
Right now I have one test model with full base coat and wash, needs highlight and detail. The rest of the unit has armor, pants, belts and skin painted. Working on tartan base now (doing solid color, no actual tartan).

So I apologize for the poor picture quality. The only thing I have is my phone camera. This first one is the half finished test model. Very dark, still needs highlighting and details.

Here is how far I am with the rest of the fennblades. Still a lot of work to do, and it's taking forever =P

Here is eMadrak, with some chips to the paint already....

You picked a hard faction to paint. I DREADED painting my trolls. Sooo many little details, whereas gators I can just do multiple drybushes of green

There is a lot of detail on these guys. I love the rules and the models though, I couldn't imagine playing anything else.
I'm going to have to borrow someone's camera for better pictures....and dig up one of those threads on photography too!

i literally just did this with my bane thralls. i could have done them in a week, took me three. i found its ultra helpful to have tv or computer close to watch a series or a movie. it helps distract.

also, at one point i just sat down and made sure i did SOMETHING. even if it was highlighting one guy, or but the basing on one, not painted, just to make some progress.

That's what I did yesterday. I set aside a chunk of time, and just worked on getting base coats finished. Still more work to do on the base coats though. How long does it usually take you guys to paint a full unit? Not counting assembly and primer, I think I am already about 4 or 5 hours into the unit.

i think i remember seeing a thread about paint times.

    i think i remember seeing
4.5 hours a grunt (so x10 for a full unit is 45 hours)
    9 hours on a jack
    # hours on caster
