Thread: Whelp Coherence

    Default Whelp Coherence

We were trying to figure this out at our LGS when it came up.

As solos do they have to remain in a 1" unit coherence when being spawned or do they remain in coherence with their spawning troll?

    Thanks!

Neither really - they're all individual solos. They have to spawn close to the warbeasts, but they don't have to stay there or near each other.

It's usually just units that need to remain coherent. Being solos, whelps just spawn near a hit troll and then can wander wherever they want, coherency be damned.

Whelps are always incoherent. They're far too excitable to make any sense.

Also, WM/H doesn't have model-to-model coherency like 40k; Grunts must be within Cmd" of the Leader model, but that's it.

The 'free' Whelps spawned off the Mountain King may only be placed B2B with him.
A whelp, from a unit of whelps in your army paid for by Points, may be spawned within 2" of any friendly faction warbeast damaged by an enemy attack.

All whelps are solos after spawning and act independent of the rest.
