Default Final list for a 35pt tourney. Please offer input on percieved effectiveness.

I posted earlier this month after obtaining some new Retribution models, and my views on my army have changed drastically since then.

    My current list now is

    Adeptis Rahn +6/41
    - Pheonix -10/31
    - manticore -8/23
    Dawnguard Sentinels [Max] -9/14
    Sentinels UA -2/12
    Battle Mages -5/7
    Heavy Rifle Team -2/5
    Arcanist -1/4
    Magister -2/2
    Magister -2/0

What do you all think? I put quite a bit of thought into the list, and I think I may have a pretty effective army.

Please offer your input on the effectiveness that you see, and also feel free to point out any weaknesses that you see.

    Thanks for all the help.

I don't think the manticore is essential, and the HRT isn't good enough, i'd take a banshee if you want to play 2 jacks or get MHSF+UA or 2x MHA 2xsnipers and sylys. Also for 10 points min MHSF+UA and sylys should be good

I agree with Serberk on dropping the HRT at least. For a general list I don't see much reason to take them. The Manticore is nice for beating face but I feel like with battle mages able to pull key targets into charge range of the sentinels you should be fine. Banshee does an ok job of being able to fight 'jacks and 'beasts while having a supper useful gun that can be boosted to hit to assure your target is pulled by mages/shredded by Sentinels.

The MHSF+UA also offers you something to pick apart support pieces your mages can't see/reach.

Another thing Rahn might actually prefer would be a second Phoenix. He certainly does love his heavy arcnodes for all those slam vectors.

Thanks for the input guys. I just wanted to say that I am trying to stay away from the Mage Hunter Strike Force. I believe they are retributions closest thing to an auto include, much like Menoth's Avatar (don't play that either). I pretty much refuse to play with auto-includes, as I feel they lessen the strategic part of the game. Personal oppinion. Though I do see the point in dropping the Manticore (it did absolutely nothing in my last game), and the Heavy Rifle Team (only super-good against my friend's Man-O-War spam list). So my new list is as follow...

    Adeptis Rahn Shyeel + 6
    Chimera - 6
    Phoenix - 10
Dawnguard Sentinels (Leader and 9 Grunts) - 9
    Dawnguard Sentinel Officer & Standard - 2
House Shyeel Battle Mages (Leader and 5 Grunts) - 5
Stormfall Archers (Leader and 3 Grunts) - 5
    Ghost Sniper - 2
    House Shyeel Magister - 2

I added the chimera, because I feel it is a good arc node for the cost. The stormfalls add a good ranged component, and the mages/magister/Rahn help with knocking down the enemy so the stormfall's can brutal shot their targets easier. The ghost sniper seemed a good fit for the last two points, though another magister would work as well I think.

So what does everyone think. Does this list seem like it is better rounded. Any other models you guys think would work with this list? I appreciate the advice, and any input helps.

I have run a list close to this before except I had a second magister or a MHA in there instead of the ghost sniper. I would think if you want to have a single target killer drop in a MHA. I have found that even sneaking one of those guys in with my Rahn list can be really effective because of the ability to create charge lanes from anywhere and it is just one more thing my opponent really needs to try and watch. Even if it is only a distraction if they are focused on the MHA sneaking up they might forget about the chimera. I have killed a few casters by just running a MHA up the side of the board and then pulling and pushing key units out there to be picked off.

I think if I suggest you drop the Stormfalls and Chimera for a Soulless on Sentinels and full Nyss Hunters I may officially be a broken record.

    Introduction to Retribution

Retribution Strategy articles on handcannononline.com: Kaelyssa - Ossyan
    Ret Tournament Record: 60-28
    Minions Tourney record: 18-3
    Menoth tourney Record 5-2

The Nyss hunters are another unit I want to avoid, for multiple reasons. One is that again they are something of an auto include in many lists, and I play Legion so any non-blighted nyss just seem imperfect in my mind. Again personal preference as they are fantastic models that do lots for almost any list.

I have considered the soulless escort, and I am worried about spells tearing my 11pt unit to pieces. My final conclusions to this have been that at 35pts access to spells seem to be rarer than in 50pt lists, and I will most assuredly use 1-3 soulless in a 50pt game.

I wonder if you guys think the stormfalls are good in this list. I am currently lacking in the ranged anti-infantry aspect, and I believe they fit in nicely. Just a thought.

Thank you all for your input, and any further input/critiqueing of my list will be appreciated. Don't be afraid to tear my list/anti-auto-include nature apart. I want to become a better player, and I believe with your help my skills will improve greatly.

Again thanks to the whole community for any and all help.
