Those snapshots are new right?
My bet those are the snapshots submitted as part of the approval process.
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
Im worried they added those because they heard it will be delayed longer and it is some desperate attempt to placate us

Seriously... losing faith... 3 days (after 3-4 months)
PP should totally have a count-down clock once they know the release date!

Ok, just looked at the screen shots. I hope there's some kind of setting for color blindness. My dad would never be able to read the tiny little Xs to mark damage. For that matter, I will probably be squinting a lot myself looking at a phone screen. Why not dot in the whole circle?
I think PP realized they put a full card on the screen capture images. They just removed all except for the opening screen shot.
I m honestly surprised troll threads havnt popped up saying "its finially here", etc. or have they and i missed them by on the ball mods?

I do like how the stats and the model list can be viewed on the same page. I shouldn't have to hit more than one button to see an individual model's statline. If the developers are smart, they should have an option to view all the statlines at the same time. Hopefully this thing was QA'd with real players extensively.
And if the timer was off.......

Maybe there should be a poll. Id like to know how many people are going to accept war room in games and tourneys. If not, Ill sell my stuff and get out of this game.
Again, its officially supported in the Steamroller 2012 document:
So to "refuse to accept it" is very contrary and making a mountain out of a molehill. I couldn't care less what you do.Players can also use the War Room application during SR2012 events. When using War Room during an event players can: mark damage on War Room cards instead of physical stat cards; reference model and game rules from War Room instead of physical stat cards or rulebooks; and show EOs and opponents a Theme Force?s rules on War Room. Players must still share their model stats, damage, and so on with their opponent, whether or not that opponent has War Room. If a player?s War Room device fails during a game and the information cannot be recovered in a timely manner, the player will concede that game.
I just...I gotta jump in here and correct some of these legal tidbits. As someone else has pointed out, this is patently false--iBodger used tons of material that is the intellectual property of Privateer Press. The names and titles of all the factions, characters, units, etc, are all owned by PP, either as trade names or copyright. Someone trying to recreate the application would definitely have to worry about legal ramifications because it would be essentially impossible to provide that functionality without using any protected content.
That being said, I want to dispel this notion that Privateer "killed" iBodger so it wouldn't have to compete. The following quote is illustrative of the belief to which I refer:
There is no competition or market dominance at issue here, because Privateer owns all the relevant material. The only reason iBodger existed was because PP gave them permission to use copyrighted material in particular ways. They did this because they wanted their fans to have access to the service even though they themselves were not able to produce it at the time. Now that they have developed their own version of that service, they've terminated iBodger's license to use the material. The only reason they're charging is because it's necessary to both provide a quality product and protect their intellectual property. They're obviously not going to put out their own app but limit it in the way iBodger was limited, but they can't have tons of people still using iBodger because that would undercut the positive network externalities they're hoping will come about because of War Room.Originally Posted by Blighted Tyrant
The only sensible way to look at this is that they were doing us a huge favor this whole time by allowing iBodger to exist, and now they're doing us a somewhat different favor. This isn't about monopolistic control or stifling innovation. It's about valid and proper use of their own intellectual property.

Using War Room is not remotely analogous to using a unit or model in the game. I shouldn't have to explain why--that's Logic 101. It's not asinine--plenty of people have brought up perfectly valid reasons why it might be a bad idea to allow War Room to completely replace physical cards, at least until players and tournament directors get used to the technology. Besides, requiring physical cards wouldn't bar you from using the app anyway. You have the cards already, and have been using them all this time, and will continue to acquire them when you buy new models, so why wouldn't you just bring them with you to comply with the tournament's back-up measure? You bring both--if your opponent has the app then you get to use it to look at his list and you keep track of damage on your physical cards; if your opponent doesn't have it, then you'll have to look at his physical cards anyway, and it's really the same amount of work to track damage on your cards or on your tablet so you're not really losing out on anything. After a couple months, when tournament organizers have seen the app in action and they're comfortable with it, then you can leave your cards at home, if for whatever reason they're too much of a hassle for you suddenly. How would any of this be evidence to a reasonable person that it's a bad community of gamers?

but seriously isn't its name just like more pissed of Thrullg that can randomly play for Thornfall and don't they talk about how they will be releasing the league cards over war room in the faq. would have made more sense if they used the Gorax for the example but hey, they didn't ask me to pick screenshots Thornfall got some pretty rad options in the new league.
But even with all that i still don't think I'd play a Thrullg with Carver either way he costs half a unit of Slaughterhousers and those make me feel like I'm going for the high score for Unit on war beast damage right now my high score is a pow 40 (p+s 11 and 29 on the dice)
I am not a fan of War Room, I don't like how it can be used in place of cards. I for one will never use it. But as a friend pointed out, if that is what your opponent is using they better be just as willing to hand over that $200+ tablet as they are to hand over their cards for you to look at.
I still fail to see why having someone else look at or use your device is a concern. They might drop it, but so might your wife, kids, parents, friends, co-workers or anyone else who'd like to use it. Heck, people hand their expensive (far more so then a tablet) cameras over to strangers all the time. If your opponent is anything above catatonic, they'll be careful with it.
Battleworthy, all PP supported events, which include any event run by a Pressganger will support the use of War Room instead of cards. There may not be provisions for charging your device or free and open wireless at all venues but you will be able to use War Room's damage tracking in it's most basic, single-player form.
Should you or anyone ever encounter a Pressganger who behaves otherwise, they are conducting themselves in direct opposition to the policies that PP has put in place and should be reported to the Quartermaster, PPS_Hungerford.

(And I said this before) You don't even have to hand your device. Just click up to the relevant information (and by those screen shots here is at least 2 ways to present it) and lay the tablet flat on the board were your opponent may see what he requested. There is no reason for your opponent to touch your device in the whole transaction.
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
As it seems I was not clear in my initial post, let me clarify:
I am not circumventing PP policy towards WR set forth in the SR rules. I do not plan to disallow WR to be used in ANY of my events. I plan on downloading WR the minute it becomes available and will use it to its fullest capacity. I will encourage everyone who has the capability to use WR to do so...
HOWEVER, I also feel that having the physical cards on hand for those of MY players who choose not to use, or do not have the ability to use WR, is a courteous and sportsmanly thing to do, and I will ENCOURAGE my players to have their deck with them at my events...

I'm glad to see the new screenshots. This is the first we've seen of functionality for Hordes, and It looks really good.
This is where I stand on the subject of War Room: It looks useful and nifty, but it's not going to make me leave my cards at home. More than that I can't say until I have it in hand.

If all else fails, counterattack. At least you'll go down with dice in your hand.
Lose or win gracefully and with good humor, and you will never lack for opponents.
Always remember the dice hate everyone. That includes you.
A tablet should be fine, but if they're using a smartphone or something they're likely going to have to reach over four feet of table space to put it somewhere I can see it clearly :P
It will be interesting to see if they can do full-screen cards on a tablet. GIANT CARDS! Probably a boon to those players with vision problems!
