If PP's making it official, then pressgangers should be supporting it; that's pretty much what they're (not) paid to do(though they do get free PP stuff out of it, at least)
I intend to try using it as a card replacement for one purpose - getting to play the small Troll army I collected before I found out I'm terrible with them and like Circle betterDidn't pay the $20 for the card deck so I could use them on the MkII transition, but now I can legally pull them out and play around with them, since $5.50 is much cheaper.
Referring to OP's post…
I just did a quick search to see what the average time is that Apple takes to review an app… 6-9 days which would give us some time between Monday and Wednesday next week until release![]()

This site might interest those of you who are wondering how long the approval process takes.
Did they ever sort out the Tier Lists for Warroom?
I know it's not likely, but it's possible that the day they announced that the app "went gold" could have been several days after it actually went gold. So the 9 days is a grim possibility, but who knows?
Well it only gets sadder if you assume that they mean 9 business days which means we may nto see the app until tuesday or Wednesday next week,
Warjack technology is considered sacrilegious by the menoth faithful.
to justify their use, each jack is extensively blessed and engraved with holy scripture:
"Imagine how that process went with the judicator, the thing has flamethrower nipples..."
And may the heretics draw deeply upon the cleansing fire sprung forth from Menoth's holy teets!
Then that pushes the expected wait until at least mid-day Monday.
Incorrect sir. The model names have not been trademarked, nor can you copyright a name. Additionally, in civil court, if PP chose to pursue the matter, they would be limited to suing for damages, and there are additional requirements that such a lawsuit would have to overcome.
That said, like all IP disputes, your claim to ownership is only as strong as your lawyer. PP likely has access to a lawyer, although it is probably a business lawyer, not an IP lawyer. But even so, they have resources that they could spend on such an initiative if they chose. Your average garage-shop independent software developer does not have access to a lawyer, let alone one specializing in IP laws. Even so, just the threat of a lawsuit is going to disuade most individuals from doing anything with the material.
I love PP, their products, and the materials that go along with them. They were absolutely within their rights to ask iBodger to close up, and the iBodger guy had no reason to fight them on it. But there is a whole lot of incorrect information floating around on Copyrights, Trademarks, and Patents. I'd seriously recommend spending some time learning more about how Intellectual Property Rights work.

This is what concerns me. If this is the way they've done it (I know they said months ago that this was how it was going to work), then I'm probably not going to buy the decks (or at least not right away - I'll play with the free app for a while before making a decision). If they've used some of the extra time it's taken them to release it to do some development to build in validation (which is what I'm hoping), then I'm buying all decks for sure.
Nothing I've seen has made any mention of theme lists, and early rumors were that theme lists were not supported. Has anyone heard or seen if this was/is the case? I use a lot of theme lists, and the ones with cost discounts and freebies will be a pain if the app doesn't support it.

ha! no kidding. i almost want to download it for something to do.
This really sucks! If they ever do anything like this again I would rather not know about it till it was available.
I think there is something valuble in having your fan base anticipate your product to this degree. I for one, didn't even know about the Warroom in production until it hit the forums like a storm.
That is part of the reason movies have teaser trailers. They don't tell you a whole lot about the movie, but they let you know its coming so you start talking about it.
Common Sense is a Myth.
Compared to HL3, this wait is nothing. Just be glad this isn't going like Duke Nukem Forever.
They could have still done said it was in production, shown screen shots, explained features, just without the date.
No, no official announcement that apple is the one holding things back. Unofficially, we all know it's been approved through the other app stores because they don't have nearly as strenuous app approval processes. Let's not lie to ourselves here to feel better. I have an iPhone and iPad but right now I hate apple.
What we know (as far as PP/TH's word is to be trusted, which I would think it is) is that Warroom was submitted to Google Play / Amazon Appstore / Apple simultaneously when it went gold, and that they're holding back on any releases until all three have been approved. (So they can have a simultaneous release)
Statistically (general knowledge shared from other app developers) we "know" that the Apple approval process takes 7-14 days, with Google Play taking far, far less. I think it's also been stated that the Amazon Approval process is also shorter.
So while no one from tinkerhouse or PP has stated as such, looking at how much time has passed it would certainly make sense that the app is in the limbo of Apple's approval process, thus making it Apple's "fault". (Unless you want to argue it's TH/PP's fault for requiring a simultaneous release)
I'm chomping at the bit, just release it and I'll go buy a Droid tablet and return it when it is released for iOS.....pretty please.![]()
This is just sad they should have submitted 2-3 weeks ago and then had it wait til the 9th. I'm tired of waiting still going to buy it all just the first time I have been disappointed in PP, except noticably smaller errant on the plastic set vs metal. Not as small as 12 year old b13 though

Wow, there is 653 people in the board. On a Friday. And is not even GenCon or L&L.
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
