Wink Can someone please explain to me how Rhyas feat works?

So, I was reading over Rhyas' feat this morning and its wording struck me as rather odd; no matter how many times I read it, I can't understand how the teleporting bit works.
The feat mentions "the first time a friendly Legion model damages an enemy model"; that sounds to me like Seige's feat, which means that only one model would get the placement from each enemy model hit. Is this the correct interpretation, or does the feat imply that the placement only affects each friendly model once and that it is triggered off of the first hit they score on an enemy model?

The latter. It affects each friendly model once after the first time they damage an enemy with their melee attack. The sentence you quoted has the Legion model as the main subject, with damaging the enemy model as the action they are performing. If it worked like Siege's feat, it would read "the first time an enemy model is damaged by a friendly Legion model's attack."

Every time a Model damages an Enemy for the first time during their activation, they place Base to Base with their target. They also gain a free Melee Attack after their Initials have been made.

I will also add that the placement effect is also NOT optional. you MUST place the attacking model in base to base contact after damaging said target. this can throw off your game if you are only able to charge just to within melee range and find yourself having to place yourself in a bad position because of base size and model placement.

that said what would happen if it was impossible to place the model base to base due to model placement

Edit: as an additional note. does anyone often find yourself when feating with Rhyas that your asking your opposition to put the model back so you can work out the placement effect. then saying you can remove it again now.

If it's impossible to place them b2b, then you cannot place them. Cannot trumps Must. And so you do nothing in regards to placement.

Rhya's place is a Must. If there is no where legal to place, you remain where you where (which is very unlikely, but it can happen, mostly with things like battle engines). And as to the ladder part, all the time, it's very instinctive to pull a dead model right away.

Hey Sage can you get the free attack even if you are not able to place that said model.
