Default Project for the Summer: eMorghoul and Dominar Fatty

For the remaining weeks in summer, I have decided to challenge myself using two warlocks I have more or less never touched. eMorghoul is going to be the main challenge as...it's eMorghoul after all. Someone not at all used to my playstyle of brick/smash or throwing a fully kitted out beast 20 miles down field. Rasheth I'm taking with no minion support. Only our own infantry.

The road will be harsh, there will be much cursing, sweat, tears and maybe a hint of mint sauce. If anyone has some advice to help me on this treacherous path I would gladly take it.

I think you will be surprised on how well eMorghoul plays, best of luck with you project.

Marketh is going to be a big help to eMorghoul's fury pool, and your going to love it when you play a troll army.

eMorghoul highly rewards forcing the opponent to commit in a do or die scenario in my experience, so good luck to you.

If you ever get to attack anything with eMorghoul, I generally yell out "STAB!" every time I make attack rolls

I can chime in regarding Rasheth. Surprisingly, he has allmost become my go-to guy in Skorne. He is surprisingly powerfull. I'd definitely recommend using his tier list. Cheaper titans are so much win. He really works well with a full Posse unit, I urge you to resonsider your decision.

Rasheth is also my go-to guy in Skorne. His tier list is amazing, and the Gators make him just gross. I run two full posse units with him at 50 points, and he has won me a lot of games.

Currently funds do not allow to shell out cash for a posse so I'm using what I have. Thanks guys for the ideas!

This sounds like a good idea. Even if it gets tough with losses or frustration, you wouldn't be learning anything new or trying to imrpove if it was too easy. At least playing with these locks will enhance and broaden your experience.

Yeah, I should say - kudos to you for broadening your horizons. I love it when people do that

We have a Journeyman coming up, and I am trying to decide what my second Warlock should be. I am planning on using one that I haven't used much before, and I was tempted to go eMorghoul (although then I would have both Morgs in my stable, and no one else) or Makeda1 (since I have used her not at all).

And if you don't have the funds - then you don't have the funds. Rasheth is still sweet, and I really think he is one of our better Warlocks.

Out of curiosity what is/are your Raseth list(s)? I ordered one and can't wait for him to arrive to start playing him :O

I have what I think is decent Epic Morghoul advice having played him a lot recently, so here goes:

You need to be as ballsy as possible with him, relying on the Brute's animus, high DEF and camping 3+ Fury pretty much at all times to keep him safe. The Archidon and Molik Karn's animi are vital for him too, you can go in and blind/kill something and then move to a safer position.

If you get the chance to charge anything good (like a heavy etc.) then take it! Don't however be tempted to spend all your Fury on weapon master attacks to take it out - that's how eMorg dies! IMO, you want to be in a situation where you've charge in, blind a big threat, do your feat, have the Brute's animus up and camp a load of Fury. Aside from things that ignore transfers or get rid of animii there's not really anything about that can touch him on that turn. If your opponent commits things into melee in an attempt to get eMorg - GOOD. Between apparition and flashing blade you can blind a crapload of stuff and if they try to attack with their 'Caster or Warlock that's even better, because they're pretty much never killing you, and the closer the enemy 'Caster is to Morghoul the better (obviously). Getting into melee with the enemy 'Caster really is the holy grail with Epic Morg, even if you have to Sprint or Fate Walk. If you're camping lots of Fury at DEF 19 and can't be knocked down and you're in melee with them, then they either stay there and die or move away and get the fan to the back of the head, both pretty good results for you! They can obviously try to attack you too but it's pretty futile and just quickens their death usually.

Even if you don't get into their 'Caster, the way I see it, once Morghoul is in their face and near their 'Caster camping most of his fury, unknockdownable and at +2 DEF, your opponent has 2 options - they either move their 'Caster back and away from Morghoul = good for you because their caster is having less of an impact on the game, you're good for scenarios etc., or they swarm Morghoul with stuff in an attempt to block him in = good for you, you flashing blade and give everyone the chop or blind everyone. Obviously certain things will screw you over here (Epic Deneghra's feat etc.) but for the most part I think storming in with Epic Morghoul is a pretty decent tactic with what a lot of people think is a very limited Warlock.

I played a game last weekend that I had no right to win, but did so using the above tactic, despite how badly I played otherwise. On turn 1 I made a mess of my fury (I blame it on not playing for ages...) and by the time I went to activate Epic Morghoul I really needed to drop all 5 fury to avoid frenzy checks the turn after. So that's what I did, thinking I'd be safe, but my friend, who was using Legion/Thagrosh and is an excellent player, shot me with a Ravagore and an Assaulting Carnivean. The Brute shield guarded and took a massive hit from the Ravagore, and the Carnivean put Morghoul down to 2 hits left! Ouch!

Next turn I charged his Carnivean with a Savage and a Rhinodon, being very careful not to kill it, just put it down to a few hits left. The Archidon slaps Sprint on Morg, he charges in, finishes off the Beast in one hit and sprints into melee with Thagrosh. Bloodrunners and the BRMTs run in at +2 DEF and jam anything that could conceivably knock Morghoul down, and your opponent's got a pretty tough turn coming up.

In this instance Thagrosh craftily attacked nearby Bloodrunners to create his ash clouds and force transfers... but it wasn't enough and he got the chop soon after. So in summary despite playing like a complete buffoon I was still able to sneak the win by playing very aggressively... It's the way forward with Epic Morghoul IMO, especially in tier.

Also if you want maximum fun, I suggest trying the tier. I've been playing this at 35pts T4 and it's a blast to use:

    Epic Morg
    Rhinodon
    Archidon
    Savage
    Brute
    2x Bloodrunners
    3x Master Tormentors
    Beast Handlers (6)

Anyways I've rambled on long enough... If the above is incoherent I blame the fact that it's after 1AM here

Rasheth, 3 titans double full gators, agonisers and paingivers is awesome at 50 points!

I loves me some Fat Man, I will frequently break tier for a Raider with him because dual Cannoneers shooting 16" at an effective POW 17-19 is gross. I've netted a number of turn two caster kills with that from people expecting Skorne to just run screaming into melee.

I have no advice on EMorg at this point, I do keep pulling him out but I don't get anywhere with him. I'm thinking of building strictly anti-Troll lists with him since I hate Trolls and SoD messes with them.

The above is my personal opinion, and in no way should be taken as representative of the overall Skorne community. Even when I claim otherwise.
Skorne on date ... when did Primal Mk I hit again?

ive had a couple successes with e.morghoul, but it took some work. what ive learned is keep him in the back and use ghostly and grevious wounds on your units as much as possible. then you kinda lay in wait for your opponent to focus too much on the rest of your army, put their caster in a bad place, then rush in for the kill.

One thing about the eMorghoul list is that you can have a real high tempo force which puts pressure on your opponent almost immediately and you can really dictate the game. Its an absolute joy to play too.

They are both good casters, you will be fine.. Rasheth is truly amazing and E Morghoul can do darn well.

Field test done last night vs a Thyra list with dominar Hedonism Bot...and it was a wash. Looked to go outside the road of a tier list and took the following

Rasheth, Gladiator, Cannoneer, Raider with min Nihilators, max Arcuarii, min handlers and agonizer. Figured the blood mark would help soften up things on the way in but daughters with grievous wounds ate through my forces and got to Rasheth by turn 3 which was in part my inability to gauge their threat and how arm 14 is really really not helpful despite having 20 boxes. That and not throwing breaths down to cover my lanes. Back to the drawing board for that.

eMorghoul on the other hand is showing promising work. Netted myself some caster kills with him or his lovely Archidon. I see what people mean with him lacking. He himself is an amazing device of destruction but the army has to do ALOT of heavy lifting to get him where he needs to go.

Also, I buckled down and managed to get a full gator posse for a slightly lower cost than normal retail. No taskmaster yet but all good things in time...

Just tried that eMorg list you suggested last night but with a Razorwurm and Krea instead of max handlers and Rhinodon, mostly in part to me leaving it at home. I must say, it is an absolute blast to play with multiple threshers and unfortunately I lost the first game vs Kromac because of shedding two fury off Morg on feat turn in case he wouldn't go for the assasination which turned out I needed only 4 to survive his turn.

Second game was vs eDoomshaper and it was left to my bloodrunners and tormentors to get the work done as Morg was stuck trying to survive the 3 stooges no matter where he went. The tormentor with grievous wounds managed to get a lucky hit on eDoomy and my bloodrunners finished the job.
