    Default Tiberion and ???

OK with the Big Elephant winging his way to me in the post, and judging by the other thread, already in the grubby mitts of several tyrants, how are folk planning on using the big guy?

From first glance he appears to synergise nicely with pMakeda, Xerxis (his BFF) and pMorghoul, as they all have useful buffs. I was planning on trying him as an anchor for pMakeda running nihilators and full ferox + Rhadeim, keeping Makeda safe when she gets forward for her feat or to maximise Carnage. Savagery and Defenders Ward make me happy.

Has anyone found any non-obvious uses or synergies? Is he as basic as plop on a control zone and laugh while your opponent tries to deal with him?

He is great in any lists! I play against Circle a lot so he is a great anchor, keeping her Druids from pushing my beast towards her.

There is naaresh's feat turn. Its not better then xerxis feat however, same p+s +1 arm and one less die for damage. Ehexeris does well with high arm titans due to vamperic harvest healing him up if your opponent can't finish him off, and makes a good bond beast. Rasheth's denial is good for attrition, but you are running out of tier so extra on titans. Cannoneer, agonizer and rasheth's feat makes him effective arm 27 versus hordes which is 22 points and straight up overkill.
Nothing spectactular but you are buffing awesome as it is. He is pretty much built for xerxis.

Ehexeris can't bond Tiberion because he's a Character. Xerxis can though. He could be PS 23 and Armor 23 with an extra dice of damage and five fury on Xerxis' feat turn, or PS 20 and Armor 25. With Immovable object and that kind of Armor you just park him on an objective or in the middle of a charge lane and watch your opponent cry.

Xerxis can´t bond him, too. Though special Issue lets you use Tiberion in Xerxis tier list , but it does not give (p)Xerxis a bond.

Weird, I thought it allowed for a bond. Oh well I guess 5 fury Tiberion is a bit over the top...

Xerxis can bond him because Special Issue allows them to bond. Special issue does not automatically bond them though. You still have to be playing in a system that allows bonds, roll to bond and then roll which bond you get.

Warbeast bonds don't increase a beast's fury; they increase threshold. Threshold 12 is pretty good.

I see now, and I was also confusing it with a jack bond that provides extra focus allotment. Thanks for the clarification.

Special issue would also let you bond Tiberion should eXerxis have a bond if and when he is released in the future.

pMakeda. Despite her feat being geared only for infantry, Savagery + Carnage + Beatsick of Choice is by far one of the most potent combos in Skorne. Tiberion easily hits hard enough on his own - and with an 8 inch WALK, reach, and the Carnage bonus, he will decimate whatever he touches within 10 inches. Swinging at Def 14 models and Beasts (Circle / Cryx / etc) with MAT 7 is not good on straight dice. You'll want to save the fury for buying swings or buffing damage so you can take full HP heavies in one turn. Carnage putting Tibs at MAT 9 makes it a whole different story. If people are REALLY gunning for him you can always switch Def Ward to him, but you'll likely be using it on Swordsmen to make them super annoying.

eMakeda does similar with the "beast slingshot" combo but only gives accuracy on her feat turn, which IMO, accuracy is probably one of Skorne's weakest points. We tend to do fine hitting hard - and hitting more often makes hitting hard that much more devastating. Our beast's "weak point" of speed is generally mitigated by the piece that goes in about 85% of all Skorne lists: the almighty Gladiator.

Naaresh / pMorg like him for obvious reasons. Tibs is also great for them to hide behind after a sprint / whirlwind move. Probably the caster that "needs" him most in that regard is eMorg. Although eMorg lacks the Fury to really run him hard, having an immovable blocking model between you and your target is ultra important, since he is almost always looking to win via Assassination. He must move deliberately every turn to try and keep going for the assassination, since vs most every other caster that can buff their army, he will lose in an attrition battle.

    pMorg and Bronzeback.

Tried it out tonight and Bump and Admonition are obscenely good together.

    jedit: mass confusion... >.<

i played him with eHexeris today. I really didnt do anything special though other than enrage and point him towards a pheonix. unfortunately my rolls were pitiful and my damage on the charge with the tetsubo only netted me like 7 points of damage, all to his shield... but two more initials with good damage rolls and two bought attacks was enough to club him down.

They activate off different stimuli. So it's like 2 levels of protection.

Bump activates when he takes damage.
    Admonition when he gets charged.

I also used him with eHexy in a previous game. He wrecked a Kodiak easily.

@FeydRautha - its a 9 inch walk with savagery, 11 inch threat just gets better. Throw in Rush for a 13 inch non linear threat...

@Darque - tibbers can't use admonition due to immovable object

from reading his post it seems more like he meant tiberion instead of bb, but who knows. however, in this thread, we're talking about taking tiberion with which caster and crazy, awesome ways to use him. so its en easy mistake to make.

also, pmorghoul with a bronzeback is skorne 101; if youre not doing it, youre wrong.

Funilly enough Tibbers with pMorg & pMak have the same 13" threat range, only difference is pMorg needs him to charge/trample.

eMak can get him a bit further with leash however (16" threat) and with no freestrikes and boosted attack rolls I think shes probably the best if you want to go for the Tiberion assassination, but then you could just do that with molik already anyway.

Tiberon can't be moved with Leash..I don't think.

Yes your correct, I had a derp moment there.

Personally I'll be using him with pMorg's as I plan on running eMak with Molik in my other list for events.

I used him with pMorg 2 nights ago and he was just awesome as an assassination piece against hordes casters as pMorg's feat prevents transfers to beasts that are in his control area and since he has sprint it was quite easy to get him to where he had all my opponents beasts in the feat then tibbers with enrage and abuse trampled over some legion swordsmen into Rhyas to thump her twice (I rolled badly on the first damage and left her on 1 health).

This is correct, which leaves three casters with 13 inch threat.

give him to pMakeda though, cast rush and savagery on him and he's walking for 11 inches with pathfinder, threatening 13 inches with reach.

Heres the problem I have with him under pMak however, You cant enrage him and have that 13" threat and he is also only fury 4.

Where as under pMorg or eMak hes getting enrage and charging/trampling for free and hes going to have rush on him anyway, and he gets his first attack with boosted damage if he charges.

pMorg and eMak with him charging/trampling are more fury efficient, more so with eMak because of the feat.

i didnt say it was the best idea, but being we're talking about threat ranges, him with pmakeda out threatens him with emakeda.

Tiberion is pretty broken no matter which way you play it. Even if you just do Gladiator, Painigivers, Tibby... it's pretty OP. Add in Fury or Xeris' feat, and it's just OP.

Personally I used to be super excited about Tiberion but now I have mixed feelings. For me I mostly want him as a form of protection from TK (Telekinesis) and Ret mages but the problem for me is that when I'm not fighting those lists, I typically want a Sentry or other units.

Being 11pts he's an investment -- I've really not figured out where/what list will fit him best.

    My current lists:

Xerxis list, is really tight on points (and I sort of feel he's overkill in a Xerxis list, despite having built in synergy).

Hexeris 2 list, could take him but black spot often makes the Sentry a more logical choice -- plus locker is pure awesome.

Makeda 2 list, I'm just been trying out but no leash makes me think no (not to mention her synergy with MK means he's just a better fit).

Zaal list, Can't really see him being a great choice.

Morghoul 1 or 2 list, I can see trying to work him in here... as he's a great beast (and Morghoul 1 is typically our beast heavy caster) but as others pointed out no abomination means the BB will be getting most of the love.

Naaresh, I've tabled him for now as my first few initial tests did not go well, in short not a huge fan.

Mordikaar and Rasheth are two warlocks I don't own (some day I plan on picking up Rasheth).

so by you estimates you wouldnt take him with any caster, really.

Gotta say I like the idea of Tiberion in a denial oriented Mordikaar list. I find Mordy needs a late game assassination threat, and Tibbers is certainly that. Throw in a cetrati wall with Vorkesh, Orin and a few other pieces and say no to fishermen, TK, EKrugers feat, and loads of generally annoying stuff. I'll definitely give it a try and see how it works.

    1. Xerxis - Def. Ward makes him nigh unkillable. Fury makes him hit even much more often, for a DEF debuff that is hardly felt on an already miserably DEF 11. And his feat? Perfect synergy with Tib. He does just fine with Xerxis. Plus shield guard is an inherent advantage Tib. has over the Sentry.

    2. eHexy - I would much rather have a MAT 9 beast than a MAT 7 beast once Blackspot is factored in. To be fair, I take both the Sentry and Tiberion in my eHexy lists (Sentry is the Bonded beastfor channeling spells).

    3. eMakeda - I understand MK is the ultimate auto-include with both Makeda's.....but just because Tiberion doesn't benefit from leash does not mean you shouldn't field him. He still benefits from Road to War, and he also gets boosted attack rolls under her feat (easy crit-smites).

    4. Zaal - Inviolable resolve makes him ARM 23. I almost always put this spell on my Bronzeback when I use Zaal, but now it goes on Tib to make him very difficult to deal with. Last stand on Tib makes him even more of a wrecking machine due to his reach and MAT compared to our other beasts (sans MK). Awakened Spirit means he can crush an opposing model, and throw up Bump without having any fury issues,

The other warlocks I do not utilize much -- But Tib is so good, I cannot imagine him being a "bad choice". It's kind of like Cryx (my original faction), with someone saying he isn't a good choice, when he is clearly one of the best jacks in the game -- much like Tiberion, one of the best beasts in the game.
