Default Do you think we'll ever see a trencher warcaster???

I'm not sure if this has been asked before,so I'll ask anyway,do you think we'll ever see a full on trencher warcaster?

If you go by the fluff,it can take years for the 'spark' to be realised,so said person could have spent a lot of his/her career in the army,in this instance, the trenchers,so using that logic, just because that person has become a warcaster, they won't have forgotten their training?

    Hopefully that makes sense??

I know we have Siege, but he's not a trencher by a long shot!!!

Being in the minority group of trencher lovers,I would be ecstatic if this ever happened!!!

PP released a series of short stories a while back when no quarter first came out and in one of them Haley is saved by a trencher with the spark and recomends him for warcaster training. Can't remember his name but at least the fluff is their for one.

    I... what?
    • In his fluff, he was a Trencher for many years before his warcaster talent was discovered
    • His armor, especially his shoulderpads, is a a heavier version of Trencher armor (and especially Commando armor)
    • His signature spell gives Dig In to any model
    • His theme list is all Trenchers

    Why would i be trolling??

Where does it state hes a trencher,it says hes a career soldier, which doesnt mean he was a trencher(although i have to admit it is more than probable!!)

Just because his themes based around trenchers,it doesnt mean hes one,one of Hayleys tier lists is based heavily ontrenchers, but again that doesnt make her a trencher either??/

Again, one spell doesnt make a trencher,if he was a trencher caster, surely he would have spells and/or abilities that would give the trenchers something that they dont already have, that would benefit???

    cheers

That's probably why he's good. Imagine if he was the equivalent of Finn and gave 3 warjack points while being not good at anything becuase he has all these choices, but can only do one of them a turn.

Siege is a Trencher. I just wish Trenchers were more like Siege.

Edit: Just read your later post. It is in fact cannon that Siege is a Trencher. It was covered in one of those background articles they do in NQ.

@Defenstrator - "Siege is a Trencher. I just wish Trenchers were more like Siege." <--- amazing.

@OP - I'll also second that Siege is pretty much our trencher warcaster. His play style is also something that echos that of the Trenchers, and his feat is very helpful to our Trenchers' damage output. (And our "anything" really.)

If there were an even more "Trencher" warcaster, then they'd probably have to release Siege as Epic Siege so that they don't encroach on his territory. I could totally see it happening, and maybe if we're lucky he'll have Dead-eye, Snipe, a great theme force, and some kind of Flare ability as an elite cadre so that the Trenchers can get around Stealth a little easier. It may be a *Action however, because he is a Trencher afterall.

    Best,

For more fluff justification, check out NQ #32. There is a fiction piece where Journeyman Warcaster Berik Havlan fights Gatormen with his Lancer "Blue". He mentions how he was a Trencher before his spark was discovered and he joined the Warcaster corp.

There's a trencher warlock. His name is Gunnbjorn.
Huh. Six months away from Cygnar and I've forgotten how to win... until Kara Sloan goes all 'bullet to the head' several games in a row. It's good to be back.

No, she just spent her journeyman years with, guess it, trenchers. She was Siege's journeyman if I recall correctly. Had a little story about her and how she and her sister went epic, you can find half of it on PP's website. Oh, and we had a homebrew thread a good while back with a trencher caster or two. I remember one by Glen that was pretty cool lookin.

She was Caine's journeyman... for two weeks. It worked out about as well as you can imagine. She was then transferred to either Nemo or Stryker, I can never remember which.

Her association with Trenchers is from later in her career.

Nemo, it comes up.... quite alot now I think about it. Pretty sure it was once again mentioned in her Stormbringers theme force, and Nemo gets all papa wolf around her in colossals. There's even a bit where Finch tries to call him out on that. Note to self. Never suggest to Nemo that he shouldn't treat Haley like his daughter.

Haley's trencher association comes from her long term at Northguard with the gravediggers. Tis why eHaley's first theme force was... the gravediggers!

As for her first theme force being longgunners? Likely because she was the only warcaster we had with no prior bias towards a particular branch of the military. So she got the line troopers who make up most of the army!

    I think it goes:
Blaize - Church of Morrow (not a precursor)
    Seige - Trencher
    Caine - Arcane Tempest
    Darius - Mechanics
    Haley - No prior affiliation
    Kraye - Ranger
Nemo - Precedes current army breakdown (probably founded Stormsmiths or at least they based themselves on his look)
    Sloan - Arcane Tempest
    Stryker - Storm Knight

The trencher from the Haley story was Brock Halfshank, I stole his name for a homebrew trencher warcaster I made, it is posted in the homebrew section but quite a while ago, I will have to go check out this other homebrew trencher warcaster, I am curious to see how it came out; unfortunately I did not get much feedback on mine

    NQ#43 - Gunnbjorn was a trencher
    Cygnar w/ Mercs (14 Warcasters, 372 Points)
Trollbloods and Minions (2 Warlocks, 45 Points)
Retribution of Scyrah (1 Warcaster, 35pts)
Legion of Everblight (1 Warlock, 15 Points)

Yeah, that dude got bumped off in the Apotheosis storyline. If only he'd spent more time using his warcaster spark to learn how to survive rather than fold and stow his Trencher gear.

In the latest fluff Siege is gone, presumably dead or badly injured, every time that happens a caster comes back being super sayian. Since Cygnar and Khador are now buddy buddy, I wouldn't put it far off the mark that Siege will be coming back next spring epic, with some of our new found friend's spells better suited hopefully to put back the umhpff into our trencher force.

Siege is "trencher-ish", but he aint no trencher.

    * Dosn't have the Trencher descriptor. He can't reload a grenadier, he dosn't benefit from Finn's boost.
    * Dosn't have a trenchcoat. This is important
    * Some of his trencherish abilities are redundant in an all trencher army (fox hole)
    * Dosn't have advance deployment

Sloan was Siege's apprentice as mentioned in the Cygnar faction book, though she was trained in the militant order of the arcane tempest.

Gunnbjorn was a Trencher, NQ#43 and the Trollbloods faction book. He is now a warlock.

I don't recall reading anywhere that says Siege was a trencher before becoming a warcaster, though given his background, those are the types of units he belongs with (fluffwise).
