Default Where to go from here?

Hey guys, I recently got a good deal on a cryx army and i'm just wondering what to get next. I only rarely play against Cryx so have only seen them in action 4-5 times (they have quite a stigma where i play). I play legion at the moment and have basically all there options. I chose Cryx for a change, for the focus mechanic (something different) and to play more units than i normally would with legion (bad timing with colossals just out it would seem).

So back on track what to get next? This is what I currently have:

    pDeneghra
    eDeneghra
    pAsphyxious
    Witch Coven + Egregore
    Mortenebra + Deryliss

    2 Deathrippers
    2 Nightwretches
    Defiler
    Stalker
    Slayer
    Leviathan
    Seether

    Skarlock
    Pistol Wraith
    Machine Wraith
    Captain Rengrave

    10 Mechanithralls
    8 Revenant Crew
    10 Blackbane's Ghost Raiders
    6 Bane thralls

I'm assuming fill up the revenant crew and bane thralls? Not sure what else. Am i going to need more of the ghost raiders for reanimation? or is that generally not an issue.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

you got quite a lot there, welcome to cryx by the way, they are a fun race to play, from what i see here you have a good start and require little investment to improve this army, first thing i would get would be 2 warwitch sirens, they are amazing for their cost, you will also need banelord tartarus, 4 more bane thralls, and the bane thrall UA. those units are important for cryx, now for the optional units that i recommend would be, a necrosurgeon, and 2 - 3 brute thralls, you are good on jacks, but its always good to grab a death jack its quite amazing and works well with all casters for the most part. thats my opinion i hope it helped

Thanks for the quick reply Teej. Ok so bane thrall beef up is first on the list noted!

    Couple more questions:

    1. obviously i need to get the revenant crew to 10. But beyond that for both ghost raiders and revenant how many more grunts will I need to cover all my bases with the extra spawnings?

    2. Are there any gaping holes in my jack selection death jack aside?

    3. I see myself mostly starting out with withershadow combine as i believe they are the most "friendly" of what i have there. Are there any gaping holes in their lists from what i have available? (WSC etC)

    thanks again for looking!

    1. 2 blisters should be enough in any case. The spawning models rarely survive long enough to spawn more than that.

    2. As I can see there are no gaping holes what so ever in your list of 'jacks. The death jack is good, but as most of your casters have the cull soul ability they will be competing for souls with the DJ and that can be a bad thing. With the coven though he can be brutal.

    3. The WSC is allmost an autoinclude for me at 35p and up, no matter what caster I am using. Even against hordes as they give the free upceap and puppet master. Allthough against WM armys I mostly include a reaper or malice for the drag.

The WWS is allso a good investment with her abilitys.

    I hope this helps.

like grimz said there are no gaping holes in your jacks list, but what he said about death jack competeing with the casters cull soul ability is not entirely true, most of the casters should be no where near the enemy, with the exception of Pasphixious because he does well in combat, but casters like Pdenny and mortenebra, should be behind your lines and wont benefit from cull soul really.
the withershadow combine is a very good unit, i myself auto include it in 50pt lists.

To add to this, he can also compete with Terminus and eAsphyxious, since they both have good ranged soul collecting abilities (feat and template respectively).

It allso depends on how aggressively you play your casters. I tend to loose most of my games because I play a little too aggressively with my casters. It may smack of stupidity for some gamers but I find it more fun to see how much carnage my caster can accomplish before being dragged down Venethrax has more than once charged a carnivean or warpwolf just to see if he can take it down before being splattered

Cheers for all the info guys. So far i've bought 2x war witch sirens, and i fleshed out the banes and revenant crew to max units. LGS was out of the UA for banes so that will be the next purchase with tartarus. I'm going to paint up these bad boys before i get the ua and tartarus though!

Also I thought i'd let you see a pic of the army I managed to snag. Really happy with it! And best is its not sealed so a few highlights and touch ups and it'll really pop!

im glad you are aggressive, and casters can win, ive had Pdenny solo it out by herself when i lose all my units and still manage to pull off a win, being aggressive is the cryx play style just remember to have an exit strategy if you are fighting with your caster, alot of people shelter their caster, and in some cases i agree with them, but in combat or closer range, casters can be amazing, keep practicing your play style, it will pay off later
