Khador's 49ers Assault Legion

Hi Folks,

Some might know me best for my Cryx army, well with a Journeyman League going on at my club I thought it was about time to give something else a go and I had always fancied Khador. However I had a particular set army in mind, Strakhov's assault force and to personalise a little more I wanted to give it a 49ers inspired look. Being that this was for a Journeyman League I also had to paint the battle box and perhaps did not spend as long as I wanted painting them, but the league got me back to painting and that's no bad thing.







I do have a few more models to paint and intend on picking up, but below is what I managed to complete over the course of the league.

All three jacks are fully magnetized (so a stupid number were used) more so on number 52 so I can have all of Torches parts as extras. To add to this I also have 2 Black Ivan Kits so I can hopefully not only have that jack but also make a Kodiak and Beast 09.

Did you dip-shade them?

Tha shading has not come up very well in the photos but its just the method from the FoW Khador book, I found it nice and simple but I added in an extra coat of Khador red after shading it to balance it back out.

Just a thought, but you might want to blacken the inside of the Destroyer gun barrel - the red inside there looks a touch odd.

I second the gun idea, and I love the way the blue glow bleeds out onto the face.

@ Antigonus, I know what you mean about the guns.

@Grey Night, the Man-o-Wars helmets are as PP intended, I just painted them like football helmets.

These guys have more red than many Khadoran models I've seen. Lots of Khador models feature red of course but there's a ton here. I like it! It somehow seems extra patriotic toward the Motherland.

I also noticed the red in the gun barrel... maybe that's overboard.
