I am upset by the insider tease. Made me think it would be out yesterday. =/ >< !!
I'm just going to go ahead and put myself of the mindset that it is officially vaporware so I'm not disappointed every day.
I had to use pen and paper (oh, the horror!) since iBodger can't be installed on my new cellphone. So yup, I'm waiting for War room! One did get spoiled by iBodger.
As a side note, it's actually a bit scary how used to calculators one can get...
Painted: Cygnar: 122pts, 6 casters | Legion of Everblight: 13pts, 2 warlocks | Khador: 11pts, 1 casters | Mercs: 38pts, 0 casters
My Cygnar, Legion, Mercs and Khador painting log

"Igitur qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum - He who wishes for peace, let him prepare for war."
Am I waiting? Nope. I'm still assembling and painting. I'm still getting in a number of games each week. I've even decided to learn a new faction.
Will I use it when it appears? You betcha. I just fail to see the point in raging over something outside my control. I've got better ways to use my time.
Mods are on the ball today!
Wonder why he said he had it, though.Just mean...
Hey all,
I'm Lane Daughtry, the lead dev at TinkerHouse Games. We just wanted to give a quick update and some facts.
The app went in for certification on Friday July 6th. The next step in the Apple certification processes is them informing us it has been pulled for review. Once that happens for an app of this type it is usually a fairly quick process, meaning the app will get pulled for review in the morning and it will usually go live the same day. No guarantees, but that's been our usual experience. It is also afternoon PST and it's unlikely that it will be pulled today. So hopefully tomorrow or the next day. We honestly thought when it didn't happen last Friday it would happen this Monday. Alas no.
Amazon is a bit more informal in their communication back to developers. You generally just hear from them that it has cleared cert with no other communication. But they are asking us questions about the In App Purchase which means they are reviewing and that's a good sign.
Just wanted to give you guys some info on the process as you're obviously anxious to see it out. As are we, I can with certainty assure youThanks for the patience everyone. It's almost over.
-L
Thank you for the update Lane - much appreciated.
Thanks for the info. Highly appreciated.
Hopefully the In App Purchase won't be a mayor problem in the review process.
WARMACHINE/Hordes no more.
Thanks for the update, Lane!
Like many other Warmachine/Hordes gamers here, my sincere thanks for keeping us in the know! Not going to lie that with Amazon asking about the purchase process, I'm a bit paranoid about others finding some aspect to whine (and thus shoot it down) about. Here's to hoping it's ready to go in time for my usual Sunday gaming. =)
Have to admit I have been concerned about the in app purchasing element as well. I've heard stories that such features are not looked upon with great favor. But at least we are getting some information. Many thanks to Lane for that.
If threads become argumentative they are taken down. Criticism is never the issue but there is a way to share one's thoughts without becoming combative, or coming off as combative. A thread will have run its course when the same arguments cycle back through. I will state once again, it is not against the rules to criticize, it is against the rules if those criticisms become aggressive.
Thank you Lane for keeping us informed. I've been trying to be patient overall with the delays in the release of War Room. However, I must say that I am concerned that Apple hasn't contacted you yet to inform you that War Room has been pulled for review. It's been eight business days since it was put up and that seems a bit much.
As far as Amazon goes, hopefully the issues can be resolved quickly and smoothly.

No one has indicated any issues at all to date. The Amazon things were just protocol points of clarification. In App Purchase for published content is a very prevalent app element these days and we are not breaking any ground in our approach to it here. That said... *knocks on wood*
And Apple never tells you ANYTHING til the day they pull you. Unless you are part of a larger marketing effort that the marketing department is coordinating with you towards. War Room is definitely niche enough that we didn't fall under that aspect of the companies attention.
So gods willing we'll all be having spirited e-conversations about War Rooms functionality soon and not it's impending release.

Another way to look at this topic...
I was bored on Sunday and started this topic...
I want to thank everyone for the amusement it has provided....![]()

The two highest achievements of the human mind are the twin concepts of "loyalty" and "duty." Whenever these twin concepts fall into disrepute ? get out of there fast! You may possibly save yourself, but it is too late to save that society. It is doomed.
My apologies Lane. I didn't mean to imply that there were any problems. I was just annoyed that it's taken this long and we haven't heard that apple has reached the review stage. Clarifications of protocol are okay; I have to deal with them myself.

No offense taken
We're just trying to keep people informed as to the process and the progress. To a certain extent you sign away any control of dates or schedule when you hand these things over for the cert process. And while the buck stops with THG for all scheduling matters with this project, controllable or not (but that's a topic for a post mortem), it's at the point where some transparency is definitely in order.

You:
1. Didn't get locked when at last another War Room thread did at that time-line
2. Manage to have one of the Developers of the app reply an actual status updated on the thread.
3. Got some amusement out of it.
Successful thread, right?
I said Wednesday. I'm going to hold to that prediction.![]()

Hey Lane, can you share how big the download is going to be? I don't have wifi at work but am too impatient to wait till I get home; so, I want to know if I can pull it down over 3G or need to plan a lunchtime run to a coffee shop![]()

The bad elves hurted this baby frogaphant. They are bad, bad elves. A player may have up to one Baby Frogaphant for every Bad Elf Wizard in his cartoonishly evil Skorne horde . - Triggerbaby
Lane, if possible, could you update here and let us know
A.) When Amazon approves
and
B.) When Apple pulls for review.
I understand if not but it would be a cool "countdown" type of event for us all. It may also be a carrot for the flamers to not get this thread locked.

I just wish it would release faster. I want it.
We are all legends. Our only choice is how to end the tale...
"Is it here yet?!"......."No"

Another "Thanks" from an anxiously waiting fanboy. Information assimilated. Have a joy-joy day!

"Have you tried turning it off & on again?"
Add my voice to the chorus of thanks Lane. It really helps calm people's tension when we can get some great dialogue directly from the source, rather than wild speculation. I hope by this time tomorrow this thread is a ghost town and we're all reading and commenting in a thread about all the things that we love about War Room.
I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but I did not see it in the FAQ. Will War Room be created as a Windows Metro app for use on Windows Phones, the Surface and Samsung, and ultimately Windows 8?
Thank you Lane for keeping us in the loop we know if it was up to you we would all have it already.
Thanks for keeping is informed. I am sure it will be worth the wait.
Seems unlikely for multiple reasons.
1) MS was not announced as a supported platform.
2) Windows phones that are smart enough to run this don't have a lot of market share, and their hardware specifications are all over the map.
3) Do Windows phones even have an app store yet?
4) Last I checked, Windows 8 was still in beta.
You can bet your boots that after its release we will all revert to giddy kids again and there will only be a few people who really care that it has taken longer than they thought it would.
You guys must be chomping at the bit for us to have at it as much as we are to have a play, something Im sure that people forget sometimes
Heres hoping for today!
