The problem isn't the amount of information they have or have not given out.
The problem is their initial March release announcement. We certainly have a right to complain about what is, in anyway you slice it, 4 going on 5 months of delays. They made a promise to us as their customers that they where not able to keep.
Now granted, knowing what we have been informed of, thanks to Lane's posts here and what PP has said, the delay is understandable. I don't fault them on that. We need to remember, in the grand scheme of things, PP isn't a huge company. Mistakes will be made.
I still don't feel keeping the simultaneous release, at this point, is a good idea. What limited amount of information I know, and it is limited, if there where any bugs found after the initial release, those can be fixed and patched to all devices.
Yes, if you don't keep to a simultaneous release, I can understand the potential crap storm from players without that particular device. Honestly, though, they have a very singular third party to direct all that vitriol over. If an app has "Gone Gold" and you push it to every available store, then it is on that store to approve the product. Some will be quicker then others, but you keep that delay, and the fault for that squarely on the company that needs to approve it. Players who own Apple products sometimes buy those products because of the scrutiny that Apple places on the App store. They would understand the delay.
The primary problem with how this is all going down, is that PP is allowing a one (or two) companies to dictate their release of product. Warroom being delayed because of the apple and/or amazon approval puts all the power over their product in another companies hand. Warroom on Google Play today, puts external pressure on other stores to approve Warroom, because at that point it is potential lost revenue. Without this, Apple has all the power to take however long they want.
My primary frustration with Warroom is not the constant delays, it is how much Apple (or Amazon) has control over this release process.
Lost revenue is lost revenue, no matter how big or small it is.
Right now, it is the difference between no pressure and even the slightest amount of pressure. I vote any pressure, no matter how small.
This is how competition works, this is how competition is supposed to drive things in the favor of the consumer.
I guess I missed the part where an announced release date is a "promise".
I think you're confusing their expectation of when it would be available with your own expectations.
So it's later than their expected release date, and it's not the first time. So what? What, exactly, is so "frustrating"? It's just an app for a toy. We can still play without it in the meantime.
Personally, I'd be more frustrated if it were a model that I needed for an army, that has yet to be released. That's at least something that has a tangible impact on how the game can be played.
Also, releasing it now on Google won't result in pressure, because there won't be any "lost revenue" on other platforms. You don't seriously expect us to believe that someone is going to trade in their phone or tablet for a competitor's brand just because War Room is out for it a little sooner, do you? Apple's not going to lose any money if they're not first to have it in their store, because iPhone and iPad users are still going to get it on iTunes, even if other users have it first.
No, but people like me however have 2 devices, I have an iPad and an Andriod phone. Just because you have one does not mean you already do not have another.
A release date which is set in stone is an implied promise. If someone said I was going to have my contract on the 23rd of July I better damn well have it then. If they said sometime by the end of July however I would be patient. This is a simple case of over promising and under delivering. I am not in the camp that particularly cares and will just get it when I can, but seriously a release date in a promise, and one people get annoyed with regularly if it is not met.
To your point as well, the first release date was over 2 months ago, we have had 3 different release dates to this point and not one of them has been met. they are smart this time and haven't given us another one, but how are you not understanding the frustration? Especially since they removed the free version of the program a long time ago in anticipation of the first release date. And yes it is an app for a toy, a toy which we pay lots of money for to enjoy. This is an aid to that hobby. Which would make our toy playing lives easier. All I am seeing is someone who doesn't want to see fault in a company which is not delivering on a promise and burying his head in the sand.
Again, I am not stressed about the issue because I will just use my cards and wait so I can try out other factions. I also have Android and iOS so I am not stressed where it is released first. There is fault here though, there is blame to be passed out and there is really no denying that and dismissing off hand those who have a legitimate complaint is wrong on the face of it.
Patience is a virtue...........
To those that are angry at PP and other companies that this hasn't been released yet: You're not playing like you got a pair.
Would you rather them rush it out and get a product full of bugs and glitches?, just to satisfy the whiners who can't wait for a finished product?

I'm of the mind it will be here when it's here. But this week would be niceStill staying positive at any rate. And like others have said War Rooms Sports sucks lol. I keep thinking wooo hoo, then awwwww. it's bloody War room sports :P Not it.
You see this is where consumer entitleism gets really annoying, it's not a promise, it's not even implied. PP and THG aren't your client, they do not work for you. They put out a service that you can choose to buy into. Sure you have a right to complain if you're getting mistreated in some way but in no way is missing a release date that was never set in stone to begin with, grounds for grabbing a pitchfork.
Actually we have had one release date. They originally said March/April, then they said hopefully May, then they gave us an actual, albeit tentative date of July 9th which they always said wasn't set in stone.
feels like a war room day to me. i have a lot of stuff to do, and i probably won't be able to download it and play around until late. so that most likely means today will be the day it comes out.
Lol those reasons for it coming out today are funny because they tend to be true, although @ AJ the Ronin sorry to hear about stolen Visa, I can imagine how much of a pain in the rear that could be.
I'm starting to wonder, it'd be funny if it came out on September 7th cause they had the numbers crossed (9/7 instead of 7/9!). I think at this point none of us would be surprised.
In the meantime, I'm going to be working on photoshopping a Intercessor Kreoss card (I've had really good success with this on a few other models). Made me start wondering; it'd be cool (later down the line of course) if they added a feature in War Room to have a blank card and you can create a custom one; for either proxying or playing with unreleased models. Of course they'd have to have a huge tag saying "custom" so you can't try to fool your opponent with a 50 hit box Warcaster or such....
I know of one PG who has made custom models for fun play events........his name shall not be named <cough cough ghool cough>
Also, i wonder (and this may have been answered at some point or another) if league models and models for events (longest night thralls is the first example i can think of........Fun note of the day: i our longest night event, the thralls ended up killing more army points than all the competators combined.........we even had 2 caster assassinations by thralls......) will be included/added around the time they are used? Not that it matters, but could be an interesting aspect.

I think I dreamt that war room came in and I was playing around with it. Clearly om
spendong too much time waiting for the app
Yeah, it would be pretty funny if War Room were released today, since I'm going to be away from my computer all morning.

I must admit I am deeply disappointed with PP.
The app was delayed, they misjudged their release dates, fine whatever.
But we've had no official word for two weeks with the "app has gone gold" announcement. If not for Lane posting in various threads we'd know bupkiss. Heck, we still don't know what's going on.
How about a statement Privateer? How about some information. If Apple is delaying the thing because of IAP's or it's Play, whatever you don't have to tell us exactly what's going on, but it'd be nice if you gave your loyal customers who want to give you their money *some* information.

Honestly, PP may not be the one that has the answers. Since THG is the group that made it, I'd think they were the group that submitted it & would be getting the answers from the various stores directly not PP. I'll take news from anyone as they see fit to give it but I'm guessing anything said by THG is as close to the horse's mouth as we can get.

It could just be that there is no information to give. If Apple is still just sitting on it for whatever reason there isn't any new information beyond what they have been given.
If it has been rejected due to the IAP setup it would be nice to know that, but until we hear anything else I'm just assuming Apple is sitting on it.
I highly doubt PP has any news for us. They and THG are waiting for Apple and Amamzon like the rest of us.
And honestly we don't need to know anything, they don't have to tell us what's holding it up (if anything is in fact holding it up). It'll release when it releases. If there's a problem and someone rejects it I'm sure that they will tell us but I'm confident in saying that there's nothing to update us on.
Actually, I think we'll have a better idea around 3pm - if it was pulled today, assuming that it was pulled sometime between say, 9am and noon, then I could see it being reviewed and released today.
On the other hand, after noon I would see the release likely being tomorrow.
I agree with the PP and THG are not required to tell us anything. They already did. No change of information, no news. They do not need to console us or sit with us while we wait.
Now here's a thought, imagine the upcoming Apple TV scheme. Imagine TV shows having to be approved by Apple before they air. I can see the commercials now...
"ACTION GUY returns for an all new season premier this Thursday at 8PM! Don't miss the television event of the year!"
...followed by high-speed low-toned drug commercial disclaimer voice...
"Announced showtimes subject to AppleTV approval. AppleTV reserves the right to edit and/or censor any and all scenes displayed in advertisement. AppleTV reserves the right to deny viewership on a case by case basis."
