    Default Menoth Templar Cinerator WIP

This is my WIP for my first fantasy miniature and my first PP.

I am using VA MC and GC. P3 Paints are on the way.

I choose to paint in different color scheme for cloth. This color is suitable for templar leader.

    1. After grey primer done. I am using Gunze 1200 spray can.

    2. I am try to wash and paint in the first color scheme, White cloth. The base coat done.

    3. After that I change my mind, I change the cloth to Blue. I am create my own wash and finished the paint. But It not look excited to me.

    4. The final color, Purple and blue. This is done.

For the 4 hours for cloth, I know everything which cannot learn anywhere. I read and see the video alot before doing this work and try to follow the instruction. But it not work for all situation and persons. So I try to change the method which is best for me and I already found it to shading and blend.

So for the beginner, Do not read and look alot, Try one and you will know many thing.

I will update this thread when have more WIP.

... I think the blue cloth was not that bad for your first try!
I especially liked the highlighting and shading, although it was not that smooth like the purple after that.

As Legion player I am curious how you will paint Thagrosh.

I'd second your advice for novice painters to just try and learn by doing so

Thank you. I think doing is the best way to learn how to paint. Today I will try to paint magenta as top highlight.

Hey mennie, good stuff! Where are you from? I'd also want to say that your painting is really good. I'm assuming you've done this before? Any idea how you're gonna continue the cinerator?

    Hi, I am from Thailand.

I am painting the military figure before but not too much. This is my first fantasy miniature but in related to modeling field, I have 5-6 experience on it (Gunpla, Resin figure).

For Menoth, I have some of units and warcaster/solo in my stock. Will be continue to work with them more.

For cinerators, I just change the leader cloak color. The remain soldiers I will painting in original scheme but not the hue of original color.

PS. I don't know what is pts? I see people paint the model and get points. How can I get it?

... with better lighting one can see the smooth trnasitions of that dark purple cloth much better!

I think you refer to an ongoing paint "competion" on our forums, where you "promise" to paint a minimum of miniatures every month - it is used to motivate people to paint more often.

The points you "earn" are equal to the points the model would cost by building it into an army list to play.
The goal is to paint at least 5 points a month worth in miniatures.

    See here for further reference:

Progress for today, I have not alot of time after my work so I need more relax with sleeping than painting on working days.

While I am waiting P3 menoth white paints, I am using VA MC "Buff" to base coat of armor. This is over 7-8 thinned coat to get the smoothiest result.

My new light setup for painting. I found the blue bulb is the best and look most natural light. Sorry if it seem too dark because I meter and focus at the bulb.
