im painting for the table, so i dont really care if it looks perfect withing 6". i think it might be a little dark, the ink that is.

looking at it here, and not in my hand it looks like the flag is a little dark.

Looking good! Until I checked out that thread, I didn't realize that wasn't freehand.

yea, this is with waterslip paper. the stuff that comes with models in boxes like tanks and stuff. i found it online here: http://www.decalpaper.com/

its ultra simple. and for a newb like me, im a lot happier with the results. if i did it free hand, id always have a sour taste in my mouth about how i wish it would have been better.

inb4 but you learn more and better yourself by doing it yourself. meh...this is good enough for as much as ill be doing it.

I didn't think of that....it's clear, so I started by just painting white behind it, I put on the decal, then just used yellow and green ink...thats a super good idea though..

This is kind of a snooty comment I mean doing decals and freehand are 2 very different types of media, and SKILL. Putting decals on models correctly so that they do not look like decals takes a considerable amount of skill. Knocking someone for using decals is un-cool. Different tools, different effects, different results.

I think the OP did a fine job and it looks great, though a little highlighting on the edging of the banner would help a bit.

and no worries on the comment. no offense taken. if he didnt realize it was a decal until he read it, then im happy.
