Default 35 point Sloan and Stormwall

Hi guys, first post ever. I have a 35 pt tourny this Friday and want to run a Sloan list as my 2nd list. My primary is an eHaley list.

    Sloan
    Stormwall
    Hunter
    Hunter
    2 stormcallers
    ATGM with UA

I like this list because it has the ignore stealth and cover on the ATGMs. 7 guys that also have thunderbolt. The battlegroup is set, because on feat turn it can drop 2 heavies, then I can play attrition.

    Sloan
    Stormwall
    Hunter
    Hunter
    B13
    3 stormcallers
    Journyman

I like this list because it could let the whole battlegroup fire at a stealth target and it has 3 stormcallers to synergize with the Stormwall. Plus it can give the Stormwall ARM 22. But it has less bodies than the other list.

    Sloan
    Stormwall
    Hunter
    Hunter
    Rangers
    Journyman
    Stormcaller

I like the +2 on the Stormwall`s RAT. Saves focus, but only 1 stormsmith and only Sloan can ignore stealth in this list. I want to have a ready list to pull out against hordes. eHaley rocks against WM. I don`t have Reinholdt.

Which of these lists would you recomend as a 2nd to eHaley? Which of these lists would be best against hordes?

    Other models available
    Ironclad
    Defender
    Minuteman
    Lancer
    Charger
    Firefly
    Sentinal
    Sword knights with UA
    Longgunners
    Trencher Commandos with scattergunners
    Squire
    Strangeways
    Rhupert

ok, the tournament is this afternoon. I decided to go with list two with B13. My reserves are min trencher commandos with 1 scattergunner. My 2nd list is

    eHaley
    Ol`Rowdy
    Defender
    Lancer
    Squire
    Strangeways
    ATGM with UA
    Min Swordknights

    Reserves
Min Trencher Commandos with 1 Scattergunner

Will pull out Sloan against hordes and eHaley against most warmachine. Ol`rowdy plus Defender is 18 points, for 1 more the Stormwall does so much more, but I don`t want the Stormwall in both lists.

Cool! Let us know how it goes!

Overall, I think that you may find that you'll use your eHaley list more often, but I'm a big fan of Kara Sloan, especially once you get her playstyle down. I think my only issue on your Sloan list is that you don't have a tarpit/interference type unit to really bog/harass the enemy. The Stormwall may not be such a thing, so it could be hard to make her shine with it at that point value.

I could see the following possibly working if you needed to include the Stormwall

    Kara Sloan (+6)
    -Stormwall (19)
    -Squire (2)
    Boomhowlers (max) (8)
    Aiyanna & Holt (4)
    Reinholt (1)
    Journeyman Warcaster (3)
    B13 (4)

    Good luck!

At 35 points with only 1 warjack (the Stormwall) you probably don't need the squire, and if you drop that it would let you pick up Jonas who give the Boomhowlers assault and makes the friendly faction so they benefit from Kara's feat. Boomhowlers + Assault from Jonas + Kara's feat is usually better than most people are expecting.
And OP I know you don' have all these models handy but consider them, bStyker's list is a lot like what I run at 35 points and I've hand lots of fun with it.

If you want to use models you have you could try

    Kara + 6
    -Stormwall - 19
-Reinholt - 1 (buy or barrow one cause the little gobber makes Kara twice as good.)

    Max SK's + UA - 8
    Rhupert - 2
    ATGM+UA - 8
    Jr - 3

With the Tough SK's to either tar-pit or counter charge/get flank from the Stormwall they can be very dangerous, now they won't get any bonus' from Kara but they are a decent cheap tar-pit. and ATGM+UA helps vs stealth.
It's probably not as many guns as you want but it might be OK depends on who you play and how you play.
It's the commander's duty and prerogative to find the most efficient route to victory. I find that victory can typically be achieved thought the total elimination of the enemy.

it turned into a non-event. I did get in 3 games against the organizer. I do like swordknights for how cheap they are, and with flank, they can hurt. I also like Boomhowlers especially with Jonas. But, those are different armies. I figure the stormwall with rapid fire, covering fire, lightning pod, 3 stormcallers and B13, the list can handle infantry. So, to maximize Sloan`s feat, the 2 hunters, gives me 9 potential shots from the battlegroup at 16 inches (fire group), that are either armor peircing, weapon master or pow 15. Both of your suggestions would drop that to 5 shots on feat. Feat turn dropped a deathripper and Deathjack with just the battlegroup. Both your lists do look strong, and I may take them with a different caster. Little leary of Stormwall as the only Jack, plus if I`m bringing the firing squad feat, I like to bring the firing squad to go with it.
