Default Circle half of the 2 player box set worth it?

So, with the new 2 player box coming out I was curious how useful you guys think the Circle half will be since my partner wants to start Circle. And if it's anything like the Warmachine 2-player box people will be parting it out left and right.

Being a newb and a Menoth player I honestly don't have an assessment. The warpwolf seems like it'll always be useful. The med. base infantry concern me since Cinerators weren't exactly the best, so I want to know if this is that whole issue all over again.

    Every day.

Its good to own pKaya, she's a good starting point and many of us have still found uses for her after all these years.
The feral will be used a lot, he's still one of our 2 big work horses.
The Winter Argus has niches into which he slips very well.

Skinwalkers are a great unit and a core of many lists with a warlock with an ARM buff.

Overall between that and the price plus the mini rule book you really can't miss it. I have everything but the Winter Argus and I'll be getting it.

It's a great deal. you get your $100 worth on circle alone.

Seconding what's been said already. Kaya1 isn't the best warlock, but she is sitll someone I am confident with out there, and I feel is a great way to learn the faction. The biggest gripes I here about here is, "She does bad a bigger points." And at lower points, she is actually pretty sweet and takes a lot of optioins folks won't normally.

The Feral is a great workhorse beast, and I think is actually finding a bit of upswing in popularity from my list reading of late. The regular Argus while limitted isn't awful, and I do reach for it in some lists. I do think it might find its place some day, and the newer sculpt is nice. The Winter Argus, as ntoed, does have a bit of a niche about and the battlegroup as a whole is good for Journeyman Leagues.

The Skinwalkers are a solid unit. They are maligned a bit, but actually I find make it into lists a fairly okay amount, don't hurt to have in a starter list, and are simple enough to get you in good habits with Circle I think.

I'm thinking of getting it myself even though I own everything but the Winter Argus, since I get the alternate Kaya1 sculpt, the parts that with some leftovers form a Warpwolf kit get me a plastic Pureblood, lighter Skinwalkers, and the two Argi to have matching. And the new rulebook, a set of dice, and even an extra tape. Even outright ignoring the Legion extras, it's a stupid-good deal for $100.

    And stuff.

The skinwalkers alone, money wise, are almost worth 100$, so yes, it would be a great investment.

Plastic Skinwalkers come out in October for $45, actually.

    That said, doing the math:
    - Alt. Kaya Sculpt: $12.99
    - Warpwolf Kit: $34.99
    - Winter Argus: $14.99
    - Argus: $12.99 (metal), $14.99 (est. plastic)
    - Max. Skinwalkers: $83.97 (metal), $44.99 (plastic)

So to rebuild this using the current available metal stuff would cost $159.93 USD. Doing it with the plastic stuff (assuming a normal Argus is $14.99), gets you it all for $123.95. That doesn't seem as great, but note that you also still get all the Legion stuff, dice, the rulebook, and tape.

I would be one to get it cheap off an online store or through an FLGS with good deals, and try to just eBay or Bartertown the Legion stuff. It's a ludicrously good deal.

    And stuff.

Skinwalkers alone costs $100, they're not really worth $100. That said, they are worth 5/8 PC.

I forgot about the plastic box comin' out.

Also, the mini-rulebooks are fantastic. They're worth about 20 bucks I think, as well.

I have all of the aforementioned stuff, and I'll be getting it too. Plastic Skinwalkers are ~$85 for a full unit in metal, and while I realize I could get them in plastic if I wanted to wait a month for only $45 then I wouldn't get another plastic warpwolf, couple of argus (winter and normal) and some legion stuff. MORE importantly I wouldn't get the condensed rulebook, which really is awesome to have.

Yeah, the general consensus seems to be: get it. Totally worth it.

Is the warpwolf compatible with the regular plastic kit? I used mine to glue together Ghetorix, and I got all the leftover parts from the plastic kit to magnetize. I'll rarely need a second Feral, but I do need a second stalker from time to time.
If that's the case, Battlebox, Warp Wolf Kit and Ghetorix kit magnetized will give you any combination of 2 wolves or double feral. Sounds pretty nice.

Also the skinwalkers show up in eKaya's Tier, which is a very nice tier list, and I think they are a very good screening unit for Morvhana.

How about some alternate-paint scheme CYGNAR?! And after that, why not spend some time in the woods with my CIRCLE ORBOROS...?!

As I am building up my circle towards theme forces who need one or more skinwalker units, I'll be buying it twice. The Warpwolf is fully compatible an one will become a stalker and the other probably ghetorix

I'm going to keep one of the legion sets to use for Demo purposes.

It's a great deal for new players who are interested in one of the 2 factions both for Hordes as for warmachine players.

Don't be sad, the metal is usually better. The molding lines on the plastic models is a real pain to deal with.

I personally prefer metal over plastic, but I am a Warmachine player, but I 've always wanted to try Hordes, so this two player battlebox is fine with me.

The halberds will suffer bendy-spear instead of breaking-spear at least. Seriously, the heads of those things are kept on by paperclips effectively.

I am a bit sadder that you get full variety of sculpts in this one. I bought two Min. units with that in mind. Might just sell off a set of the five and keep the spare leader though. Get the same setup of having two units just in case for Themes or weirdness.

    And stuff.
