Bethayne is melded with Belphagor: Which model takes damage to gain fury?

When you're below your maximum fury, during the control phase you can take a damage to gain points of fury up to your max. If Bethayne is melded, who suffers this damage? I assumed Bethayne, but am unsure.

When melded Belphagor is the Warlock and Bethayne is not on the table.

Bethayne herself is literally not in play when melded. Belphagore becomes the warlock model and he is the one who needs to cut to gain Fury.
